Day 67 Accountability

Sunday, March 11, 2012

Saturday --

emoticon1 - Exercise - Planned day of rest, although I walked quite a bit on campus today and I went to the Buckwheat Zydeco concert tonight and danced and clapped and boogied for 2 hours!
emoticon2 - Calories - 2279. My Sweetie took me for fillet mignon dinner before the concert. It was delicious! I also had a Waterleaf floating island dessert - too good to be true. The calories were worth it - and I boogied it off at the concert.
emoticon3 - Water - 8 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 8 hours - without waking up!
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 11:15pm. I lose an hour of sleep tonight. Better sign off here soon.
emoticon6 - Tax prep - minimal paper pushing on my desk this morning. I worked today.
emoticon7 - Freggies - 1 fruit, 5 veggies.

March 2012 accountability goals --
1 - Exercise at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week. I'm training for a triathlon sprint. I did something to my knee (perhaps torn cartilage), so I'm not able to run right now. My knee swells anytime I do something that is high impact. So, in March, I will swim, use the elliptical machine, walk, or bike as the weather permits.
2 - Track my food and limit my calories to no more than 1800 per day. Lose 5 pounds by Easter so that I'll weigh what my driver's license says that I weigh.
3 - Drink 8 cups of water each day.
4 - Sleep 6+ hours per night.
5 - Stop Sparking by 11pm. The # of hours that I sleep is directly proportional to how late I Spark. I'm going to be accountable to this Spark curfew.
6 - Progress on tax preparation. Goal date to get everything to the accountant is March 19.
7 - Eat 1 fruit and 4 veggies per day.
8 - Report my progress to the world every day by writing my accountability blog.

I hope your weekend plans work out great, and you are successful! It sure looks like you've got your priorities straight! I had a hard time sleeping last night, but I did get to sleep until 10, so that was good! emoticon emoticon

Great day! And yes, sometimes the calories are absolutely worth it! It's part of a healthy plan and lifestyle. You are going to feel so much better once those taxes are done! I know I do! They get in the way of me enjoying other things. Enjoy your day! Hugs.

Day 66 Accountability & Weigh in

Friday, March 09, 2012

Friday --

Today is weigh-in day with my Spark Team. I am down 1.3 pounds from last week. However, last week, I was up 0.8 from the week before, so it's a net loss of 0.5 this week. I think I'm down 5.7 pounds since starting this accountability blogging 2 months ago.

emoticon1 - Exercise - 25 minutes on recumbent bike, 20 minutes upper body strength training.
emoticon2 - Calories - 1869. Fish fry and dessert. Did better with portion control this week.
emoticon3 - Water - 9 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 5 hours + a short nap before we went out tonight. I think I'm waking up because my knee is bothering me. I was in bed early enough to get 6 hours of sleep, but woke up at 4am.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 9:30pm.
emoticon6 - Tax prep - none. Date night with my Sweetie and 2 other couples.
emoticon7 - Freggies - 2 fruit, 5 veggies.

I think it's going great. You are eating close to maintenance range in calories so any loss will be slow. We're in this for life unless we want to keep doing it over and over.

Well, you've got me with an earlier bedtime goal now! Went to bed 1.5 hours earlier last night; woke that much earlier too but did go back to sleep. I've been pushing that night time curfew too far and tired the next morning. Feel good this morning.

No sad face on that exercise goal; listening to your body is the right thing to do! Pays off in the long run.

You ARE doing great!

You have to listen to your body! Physical therapy can be tough so if your knee wants to rest, let it rest! You still did great in your other goals!
emoticon

You see, I'm still late on my spark-curfew!! I have no discipline when it comes to going to sleep!!

emoticon2 - Calories - 1592.
emoticon3 - Water - 8 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 6 hours in two 3-hour shifts with a 2-hour wide-awake episode in between the shifts. I'm not sure my body wants to sleep for 6 hours. I'll keep trying.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 4:30pm. Had dinner with my sweetie last night. No Sparking.
emoticon6 - Tax prep - 15 minutes - dropped off my supporting documents to the accountant this morning on the way to work. I still have to tweak my Quicken report.

i have been trying to sleep longer too, by going to be earlier. it is hard, but i make it most nights. some of them i have to play a game on my ipod to lull me to sleep, and then around 4ish i have to wake up to get rid of the emoticon ... and before i know it, the alarm is going off and i am wanting to hit snooze.
it takes practice for sure. i think my memory is a bit better on the days that i have had a good nights sleep.

Sweet Dreams! emoticon

Day 63 Accountability

Wednesday, March 07, 2012

Tuesday --

emoticon1 - Exercise - 20 minutes recumbent bike, 15 minutes circuit training.
emoticon2 - Calories - 1489.
emoticon3 - Water - 8 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 5.5 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 11pm. Shortly after 11pm, I got email notification that one of my team mates had posted her blog. I was so tempted to go back on and read it, but decided to keep my commitment to this goal.
emoticon6 - Tax prep - None. My sweetie returned from his trip to CA, so I had dinner with him instead of working on taxes. Time well spent! Wait a minute. I did stop at the accountant's office on the way home to pick up my dad's return, so give me credit for 15 minutes!
emoticon7 - Freggies - 1/2 fruit, 6 veggies.
