25th Anniversary, Family Christmas, and Great grandson's 1st Christmas

Yesterday was mine and Hubby's 25th (Silver) Anniversary. We shared this day with our family at grandson #1's and his wife's home. We had a wonderful family gathering. Everyone took food so just one person didn't do all of the cooking. The food was plentiful and tasty. Following are a few of the pictures we took that I would like to share with you. I love my family very much and am very lucky to be close enough to spend time with them.

Today is Mommy's Birthday........

Well, my mom's birthday is today and she turned 87. WOW....she is really pretty healthy with meds that she takes. Hubby and I went to the nursing facility and took her a birthday cake and a few presents. She was really happy and had a nice time. We shared her little cake with her room mate and with some of the staff and everyone was singing "Happy Birthday" to her. She went down to play Bingo at 2:30 and when she went into the room, everyone there started singing. She was just smiling from ear to ear. Following are a few of the pics we took. HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT?

You have to try this. It is absolutely true. I guess there are some things the brain can't handle. This is from an ortho surgeon. This will confuse your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can out smart your foot, but you can't. It is pre-programmed n your brain.
1. while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off of the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this,, draw the #6 in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction
3. I told you so!!!!! There is nothing you can do about it!! You and I know how silly it is, but before the day is done, you are going to try it again, if you haven't already done so. hee....hee....hee

Mom and Nancy at Christmas luncheon

Today I went to the nursing facility to share with Mom the the pre-Christmas family luncheon. I took her some Christmas clothes to wear and she was really surprised and got a great big smile on her face when she saw me. I took a couple of outfits so she could choose what she wanted. I like to let her make as many decisions as she can because she doesn't get to make many. We had a nice lunch and then I took this picture of us. She is so happy there. I also took a few little ornaments for her to put on her tree which she was going to do after I left. I have already taken several Christmas items for her room and outside her room for the wall. Today made my day as well as hers. Everyone who is still fortunate enough to still have your Mom enjoy her while you have her because she is the only one you will ever have.

Trying to be Quiet

Well, trying to be quiet was a big "bang" this morning. It was 4:05 and the batteries in my "mouse" died. I went quietly to the closet where we keep a basket of batteries. I slowly got it down and was taking out the ones I needed and all of a sudden, the basket just fell out of my hand. Batteries went "clanking" all over the hardwood floor making so much noise. I scurried to pick them up and was waiting for someone to come down the hall wondering what was the big noise. I guess I either woke no one up or they just ignored the sound and went back to sleep. I guess when everyone is up, I will find out who got awakened.
