My Tree Rose

Friday, June 10, 2011

I told all of you that when I had my shoulder surgery, my physical therapist and I became friends. I was leaving the state and at my last appointment she told me she had ordered me a tree rose that has miniature roses. It was delivered in April and I planted it. It has just bloomed it's first rose this week and it is really pretty......just look at the colors....different color in the same rose.

This rose bush is a take-off from another rose I purchased several years ago. I had that bush on here several blogs ago. It starts out in a tight yellow bud with orange edges, then a golden color and finally a pink. All of this is one rose (3 colors) on the same bush.

Beautiful! I love the color! I had a tree rose and I killed it. I keep trying and trying with roses. I don't think I have a green thumb.

My little Garden

Friday, June 10, 2011

I don't have much space for gardening, but I love doing whatever I can do. I am posting a picture of my tomato plants and my squash.

These are actually bigger than they look in the photo.

I think I will have some of the Lemon Boy tomatoes before too long.

3/d-4/d sonogram-pics added

Friday, June 10, 2011

Today I went for a sonogram of my first GREAT grandchild. His name is Levi Michael and this event today was amazing. There are photos, but I have to get them to add to SP. I don't have them yet. He was so cute and was being lazy......he kept his little arm over his face and head. His hands are huge with long fingers. Finally after having Mommy move in different positions and run empty bladder, he did move his arm so we could see him better. However, the first shots of him, he did show his face. I can't believe how much you can see just what the baby looks like. I will never forget this very special time to see him. Thank you Amber for inviting me to share this AWESOME time with you.

He has really big hands.......like his daddy.

I AM SO EXCITED

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

I am so excited. Friday morning, I am going to Fredericksburg, VA with my grand-daughter-in-law. We are going to view a 3D-4D sonogram of my first GREAT grandchild. He is Levi Michael and he is due on September 4. They will show him moving around to the beat of music and put it on a CD. These sonograms are so life-like. The last one, I didn't go, but she posted pictures and you can actually see what the baby looks like. This one is supposed to be even more detailed and I am tickled "blue" that she asked me to go with her. You can also buy a teddy bear with the sound of the baby's heartbeat. How advanced the technology is today. They didn't even have sonograms when I had PINKNFITCARLA.........lol...lol....

That's great, Nancy!! They sure are pretty cool. My niece-in-law just had her baby almost 2 months ago. She does the ultrasounds for a living. So, she was always posting the 3D pictures of Gabriel. They are very life like.

Hugs,

Lainie

Outside in Yard again today

Thursday, June 02, 2011

I worked in the yard for 5 hours this morning. Yesterday, Hubby tilled a patch for me to plant in and I planted 13 Nandina plants.....the kind that gets berries in winter. I love them and they are so much fun to decorate with. They get large grape-like clusters of red berries and they can be used in so many decorations at Christmas. At my last house, one in particular had so many clumps of berries it looked like a Christmas tree decorated in my yard. Everyone commented on it. I also fertilized all of the potted plants as well as the plants that are planted in the ground. Also, hoed my little garden to get it weeded and fertilized it too. Some of the green beans I planted did not come up, so I replanted them too. My tomatoes are doing REALLY well. My squash plants are up and starting to grow. They will grow so fast.... I don't have much space for my garden this year, but plant to make it a little larger next year.

Remember to track your food, eat healthy, drink your water, and get some exercise.

I worked in my gardens for 4 hours Monday morning and then again 2 in the afternoon. I only wish I could do that about everyday instead of holiday's. My veggie garden is quite small as well. Next year I hope to triple the size.

Wow, Nancy, you're busy, busy, busy in your garden. Your vegetable garden sounds wonderful. I hope you didn't have the heat like we did today. It's 7 p.m. and we're still at 95 degrees. Take care and make sure you're drinking plenty of water while you're outside.

Hugs,

Lainie
