Yummy Breakfast

Friday, May 28, 2010

I just finished a really yummy breakfast. Into a bowl, I sliced a cup of fresh strawberries, sliced a small banana, and then put a container of Yoplait nonfat strawberries/bananas yogurt over it. It was really tasty and easy and only 243 calories. If you want s few extra calories, you could have a 100 calorie English muffin. emoticon emoticon

You could also throw in some granola, if you had some. Excellent breakfast - it's one of my favorites.

Be Happy

Thursday, May 27, 2010

Got up at 4:30 this morning. I sat on back porch and drank my coffee. Then I went for a walk, came home and put washed clothes on line and then did some gardening. Temperature is supposed to get to 92 today so had to get started early. We were going to cut the grass, but decided to wait until tomorrow. Getting ready to go to Wally Mart for a few things. Hope everyone has a good day today. BE HAPPY.

What did the deer eat

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Well, I am happy to say the deer didn't get anything to eat last night. They have not been out too much recently because they were with the new bambi's. I guess that is why when they did finally come out, they ate so much. What I have been using for 3 years has worked so well, I just couldn't believe they ate all they did. We saw a mama and her new baby go through the bottom of our yard yesterday and they were so cute.

Too cute for their own good. They get in my garden, tear up my fences, and generally make a nuisance of themselves, but I still have great admiration for them. Just wish they'd leave my veggies alone!

Today we went to the produce barn and got some Florida tomatoes and some cantaloupes. We can get them there earlier because they buy to sell until their own local ones come in. They still have some strawberries, fresh asparagus, and yellow squash. I love summer when you can get fresh veggies and fruits locally. Where we lived before, we had a huge garden with everything imaginable. I canned and froze. We had fruit trees and blueberries in addition to veggies. We planted "greens" in spring and fall. I really miss our own garden, but we just don't have the space here to do it. Besides, there are too many deer. I could go to the garden and pick each day our dinner, and then run down to the lake to catch a fish to complete dinner. That was really great.

So sorry about your cabbage plants. Your garden always does so well. I will be happy for you to share your veggies (you did last year). Deer got all of my lilies in front yard last night. I can't believe this is happening. I have been using the same solution form 3 years and it has worked. Maybe they are getting immune to it. emoticon

By next year, you will have space for the big garden. In the meantime I'll ship you produce from ours, LOL. I just hope ours does well this year. Didn't start out well with 60 cabbage plants eaten emoticon Everything else still looks good though.

I bought a cantaloupe the other day and it was almost too hard to eat. Hope yours is better.
