Pray please

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Please say a prayer for all of the people who are going through such bad times because of dealing with the tornadoes. Pray for the families of those lost to the terrible storm.

Yes, Nancy, I'm praying. My home state of Alabama is in need of our prayers. My family there is reporting that parts of the state look like a war zone. Thank you so much for your prayers! I haven't been able to reach my mother, but my nephew went over and checked on her and my step-father. I'm so thankful they're okay! The electricity there is expected to be off for 5 to 7 days. Praying for the recovery efforts...

Earth's Children Books Series by Jean Auel

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

I know of 2 people here on SP who are reading the Jean Auel "Earth Children" books. Is anyone here on SP reading this series. The first book was Clan of the Cave Bear. The latest and last of the series just came out last month and I have purchased it but am getting a slow start because I have been so busy. I love this series and have got to get started seriously on it. If you are reading it one of my emoticon is interested in knowing. Please let me know in this blog. Thanks

I haven't read the last one (yet), but I have read all the others. I've been following Ayla since the very first book! Talk about being transported to another time and place!

Clothes Drying

Monday, April 25, 2011

I have always loved to hang clothes outside to dry. I love the way they smell from the fresh air. I have always had a clothes line. Since moving here, I have not had a clothes line, but we are putting one in shortly. I put all of hubby's clothes in dryer, but most of mine are hung on hangars in laundry. TODAY, I put the sheets outside to dry. You ask, "How with no clothes line?" I just put the outside deck chairs together and hung them on the chairs to dry. I also hung out a cotton tablecloth and it was dry in about an hour. The sheets and tablecloth smelled so good when I brought them in. I can always tell when I take something from the linen closet if it has been in dryer or on the line. I do put my socks and towels in the dryer but all else I put on hangars or on the line. I think our lines will go up sooner than I thought. lol...lol...

I haven't hung clothes out to dry since I was a kid. We didn't have a dryer for many years. My mom would hang the clothes outside during the warmer months and in the basement during the colder months. During the summer, I would hang them out for my mom. I didn't mind doing it at all. Thanks for bringing back the memories, Nancy.

Hugs,

Lainie
