A Beautiful Day Today

We sure are having a beautiful day today. This morning I did my ST and then we went for a little ride in the afternoon. When we got home I worked in the yard for a while. I just love working in the yard. After working in the yard for a while, we walked up to the little private airport and watched the planes go off and watched the gliders go up and get released. It is such a beautiful sight. We came back home and I am doing my sparking. I might just go back outside because it is so nice. I love spring time.

Another Good Day

Well, I had another good day today. My brother came to visit Mom and of course me and hubby. I knew he couldn't stay for dinner so I made dinner for lunch. I made a lot of food, but I was able to keep on track (because of portion control). I had a spiral ham, crunchy potato casserole, fresh green beans, spaghetti squash, sliced tomatoes, and walnut pineapple cake. Boy, did I have small portions. I just had a small bite of the cake. My mom is here with us since a fall and hospital stay last month. She was really happy to see my brother and his wife (so were we). I am so happy Mom had a good day.

Good day today with Mom

Today I took Mom to get a perm. She really didn't want to go, but I finally talked her into it. After we got there, she said she was just getting a haircut, not a perm. Oh my. I suggested how much better she would feel if she got the perm and not have to do anything much with her hair. Also, my brother is coming tomorrow and I really wanted her to be happy she had the perm. BUT MOST OF ALL, I knew she would feel so much better if she got the perm.....because she would feel good that she looked really nice. She did get the perm and she was so glad she did. She liked the person that did it and she really liked how the person was so "sweet" to her. After we got home, she, hubby, and I went out to dinner. We had a nice dinner and Mom was really happy. It was so worth doing.

That's wonderful, Nancy! When I read about you and your mom, it brings back memories of me and my mom. There were challenges from time to time, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Great Start of the Day

The weather may not be so nice today, but while sitting here sparking, I am listening to the birds singing. In spite of the drizzle, they are just singing away this morning. To me, there is no better way to start the day than to sit quietly, drink my coffee and listen to the day wake up. This is my time of the day and I always get up early to make sure I have this time to myself. When the weather gets a little warmer in the mornings, I sit on the deck and "bring on the day". Life is great and I am so fortunate for my great family, friends and health.

Remember to eat healthy, track your food, exercise and drink your water. Have a great day.

Sounds like a wonderful way to welcome in a new day. We're having not so nice weather too, but the birds and squirrels are out in force today. I'm luck that I have a wonderful view outside my home office window. I've been watching the squirrels gathering up the pecans that they buried in the yard. Friend Coming Today

Good morning. I am up at 4:30 this a.m. I am really excited that a good friend from NC is coming for a visit today. She is a really good friend and I can hardly wait to see her. We are supposed to have a mix of rain/snow today, but not enough (hopefully) to cause any problems for her getting here. She is from Wisconsin and knows how to drive in that kind of weather. I have already washed and dried a load of clothes and I have a Swedish Apple Cake in the oven. This cake is so good, but I will only have a skinny slice and will count the points. My friend is only stopping by for a short time because she is on her way to take a trip with another friend. She still will have 2 1/2 hrs. to get to the other friend. It is out of her way to come by here but she is doing it so we can have a visit. I am so fortunate to have so many good friends in my life. LIFE IS GREAT
