Dreary Day

Wednesday, March 09, 2011

Today is a really dreary day. Has been raining since yesterday and, of course, there is no sun. Thinking positive, this rain is badly needed and will make the flowers spring up better out of the ground. Have you any popping up yet? I have tulips coming up and iris. On another good side, I have been exercising, tracking, and drinking my water. How are you guys doing?

It's been cloudy and windy all day. We're under a severe thunder storm warning, but so far no lightning. It's 75 degrees out.

I'm in an office all day with no windows, so not sure what the day holds out there. I know it was nice and sunny when I left for work at 6:45am this morning. Tomorrow and Friday are supposed to be miserable days here. Guess I will be thankful for my "no window office" then. lol.

Think sunny thoughts! :-)

Ohio is deary as well, and probably several degrees colder. On the positive side, the rain is melting the last vestiges of snow.

I am off to the gym and then to a hash walk.

Snowing here

Sunday, March 06, 2011

Well, we are getting some snow. Not supposed to be more than an inch. The hyacinths are popping up and the tulips too. Hopefully won't be more than they are saying. Was so nice the other day, I worked in the yard for more than 4 hours and tonight it is snowing........

Sorry you're getting snow again. I know you're anxious for Spring. Hopefully, it won't last long and you will have Spring weather again.

Have a great week!

Yeah we were supposed to get rain, but got a heavy enough snow that everything is covered again and did I say it was cold?

It was snowing here too. Went to church and it was nice and warm with a little rain. Came out of services and the ground was completely white. We have tulips coming up and I hope this weather doesn't affect them.

I feel almost guilty. It was short sleeve weather here today.

LOL...this time of year is so unpredictable! When I looked at the radar and saw snow right near you I was pretty sure it was headed to you! Our temps have dropped to 35 already, but rain supposed to be over here before it gets below freezing.

Hope you still get to do all you were going to do tomorrow!

Happy Sunday Everyone

Sunday, March 06, 2011

Well, wishing all of you a Happy Sunday. Hubby put out fertilizer yesterday hoping the weather person was correct with the rain prediction. Well it paid off, because it has been raining since last night. Still raining this morning. As I sit hear "sparking", I can hear the birds singing. What a beautiful sound. I love spring time. Flowers are popping up from the ground after being asleep for the winter. Any little color is just so good to see because I know warmer weather is almost here. I love working in the yard and planting flowers. We are in a new home this spring and not sure what was here previously. I do see tulips and iris peeping out from the ground. When the weather allows, I will be putting out the bushes I brought from our last home....about 12-14 of my favorite ones. I can't wait to see what this "yard" will bring in the way of blooming things. After all danger of frost is gone, I will be putting out LOTS of annuals because they give color from spring until frost.

Remember to track you food, exercise, drink your water, and most of all BE HAPPY as you move forward in this journey.

I love Spring time too, Nancy. It's my favorite time of the year. I am already seeing a lot of blooming trees and some azaleas are now blooming here in Georgia. The trees are budding and some already have new leaves coming out. Our grass is starting to grow and is already greener every week. Once Spring is in full bloom, I plan on a trip to Savannah to to go through all the Squares. They are all so beautiful in Spring. The pictures on my Spark page are of Savannah. Luckily, it's only 45 minutes away from me.

Hope you're having a wonderfully healthy and active day! Take care!

Hugs,

Lainie

I HAD A GREAT DAY

Friday, March 04, 2011

This morning the occupational therapist came to assess Mom. She gave pointers on safety in the shower and in the bathroom in general. Mom is getting stronger and feeling better each day. Of course, that is because I am making sure she eats and drinks plenty of liquids.

Now for another good part of the day. I worked in the yard for over 4 hours. I dug up over 13 bushes and dug holes to replant them. The last 3 holes Hubby dug the holes for me because I was pooped. I do love doing all of that work in the yard. The results are so rewarding. Running out of time....have to run now and get dinner. Nancy

BUSY DAY

Thursday, March 03, 2011

Well, we sure have been busy today. First this a.m. the refrigerator repairman was here. We have a brand new fridge and this is the second time the ice maker has not worked. They replaced the control panel today.Should have ice within 24 hours. 2nd the heating/air repairman was here to replace the heat pump for the bonus. They didn't send one part he needed and it took him forever and lots of phone calls to find it. He is still working on the final installation. Next came the shed we ordered for the back yard and they got that all installed. WHEW!!! Then the physical therapist came to assess Mom' condition. They are going to be doing p/t and occupational therapy and send a home health nurse until she is stronger. She has had a pretty rough time, but is getting better. All of these people were here before 10:00 this morning. All of her therapies start tomorrow along with the nurse. She will be homebound, but not for too long.
I am doing well at keeping on track with my food. Still haven't found time to start my walking again, but I do my exercises inside. Not much time to do all of the sparking I would like but hopefully before long I will be back at it again. Love you guys........Nancy
