No Snow

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Well, we only got a dusting of snow overnight. Can't believe how the weather can be predicted and then change so much. I know the two systems didn't meet and that is why we got so little. I guess I will just have to wait and see if we get a snow at a later date so I can go sledding....lol....lol....

We are getting lots of wind and rain right now. Hope we don't get any snow.

I'll be sure to have the camera ready for that! I love sledding.

We got about an inch on top of a couple hours of freezing rain. Schools are late today but not closed.

I don't know if they will ever get the forecast correct! We weren't supposed to have any freezing rain!

Snow

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Well, I guess all on the east coast is hearing about having snow or getting snow. We had just a dusting this a.m., but the snow is supposed to start mid-afternon. We are supposed to get 1-3 inches. Larry and I put on a BIG pot of chili a little while ago. I always like to make chili, soup, or something in the crock pot. I call it my comfort food when you can smell it cooking all through the day.

Sounds tasty. I do the same thing on extra cold days. Though living in Southern California our cold is probably much different than yours! LOL! We had about 2 inches of snow last week and they actually closed all the schools! Stay warm emoticon

Loving Life

Sunday, January 09, 2011

This New Year has started out nicely. WE are getting settled in our new home and getting lots of items checked off of our "to do" list. We still have a lot to accomplish but the list is dwindling down. Wishing all of you a great day/week. LIFE IS GREAT

I'm so glad you like your new place. I love settling in and getting things put away and some others discarded. It's like a cleansing feeling.

Good Friends

Thursday, January 06, 2011

As some of you may know, we just moved back to VA from 5 years in NC. Yesterday was really a nice day. Early in the morning a friend called to see if we were going to be home so they could come for a visit. They got here at noon and was here until 8:00. We had a wonderful visit and went to a restaurant for dinner that several people had told us "we have to go there". The meal was very good. They had homemade pies...some with meringue 3" high, but I was really good and didn't have any pie. Wasn't as hard to say "no" as it used to be. Since we have moved back to VA, we have had lots of people here come for a visit. We also have had 4 friends from NC come to visit us in our new home. Life if GREAT.

I remember when we moved away... we were living in a large town with lots of friends and family then we moved out to the country and it seemed like at least once or twice a month we would have someone come for the weekend.. I loved it.. sometimes during hunting season or summer months we would have a house full for weeks... your right life is great...Ronie

This happens to me every few weeks. I think it is a glitch at SparkPeople.

That happened to me for the first time last week. I knew I hadn't gone in and changed the settings so I think it is something Spark does - whether accidentally or as their means of weeding out those that are no longer active - I don't know. But it seems to happen on the same day to lots of different people. Then when you go back and change it you get about 60 e-mails all at once.

I just clicked on each item and clicked save. I didn't pay attention to any red writing, if in fact it was on mine.

That happened to me 3 times in the last week. When I went to my email settings, there was a bunch of red writing at the top saying that when they tried to send emails, my account wasn't valid and at the bottom the box was checked saying not to ever email me again. Near the red writing at the top was a box that said validate your email or something similar. I did that and I've been getting them fine since then.
