Happy Sunday Everyone

Sunday, September 19, 2010

I am really feeling good about yesterday. We went to community yard sale and I avoided ALL of the baked goods. After the sale, we went to the county fair. We were hungry because we only had a very light lunch. Well, you know the food items at the fair. I wanted a funnel cake and a corn dog so bad that I could just taste it. We walked around for quite some time and I suggested we go to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner and not eat anything at the fair. The only thing we had at the fair was a sampling of homemade ice cream.....not even a 1/4 cup. We left and went to Ruby's and I had a nice salad with f/f dressing and a small biscuit. I am happy we left the fair for dinner.

Great job not eating at the fair! Funny we talked about the yard sale, but I didn't even know you went to the fair. Glad you had a nice time.

Last thoughts before surgery

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Hi! It's Carla. Mom asked me to please write her blog to thank everyone for the well wishes for her surgery on Thursday. She was trying to write each person back, but had to stop because her arm just hurt too much so she is done with the computer for a while.

She will be in the hospital for 1-2 nights after her surgery, so likely home Saturday, but the recovery period is 12 weeks. She has no idea how long it will be until she will be able to use it enough to comfortably get back on her laptop to type.

She is so sorry she is unable to finish out the pound a thon challenge and definitely won't be ready for the next challenge, but she will be back as soon as she is able.

She asked please that no one send her any page comments, etc while she is gone because it will be too hard to try to clean out her email inbox when she returns.

Thanks again to everyone for all your well wishes. They mean a lot to her :-)

TODAY

Monday, August 30, 2010

I don't have a lot to say for today. We left early this morning and went to the produce market. A neighbor/good friend went with us. After leaving there, we went to lunch and had a nice lunch. Then hubby and I went and he had an MRI of his cervical spine. Results are in and he has a bulging disc. His symptoms have subsided since first going to the doctor, but if he gets symptoms again we will have to return. Sometimes the disc are really troublesome and sometimes they don't give you much trouble for a while. Hopefully, since he is pretty much okay now, he won't be bothered for a while or for a long time. My surgery is Thursday and my shoulder hurts pretty much of the time. I didn't even walk today and I really dislike not walking because I know it gives good results. I am going to try to get my walk in tomorrow if I am not hurting too bad.

It really is hard to get yourself motivated when something hurts or you just don't feel well. But you can get back in the swing. Find something you can do that doesn't use those sore areas. You may find something new that you really like.

I sure hope he doesn't need surgery on his neck now when he's just recovered from his back surgery!

I hope your shoulder/arm feel better soon. At least after the initial surgical recovery, I really hope you find a lot of improvement!

My little friend again

Saturday, August 28, 2010

I got a call yesterday from one of my neighbor's that I sit for. She had a chance to go to a concert if I could sit for the little girl who will be 2 in October. I quickly said yes, because I love kids and watching them. I got here this evening and Mom went out and my little friend played and sang and danced. She is talking so much now and I was surprised when I came in and she ask me "where's Larry". I couldn't believe she would remember his name and ask me where he is. She can count and she sang Twinkle Twinkle little Star to me. I have been sitting with her since she was 3 weeks old and I just love her to pieces. We rolled around on the floor and had to "go to sleep" with her babies while on the floor. Well, that only lasted about 5 seconds and it was "time to get up". I made her dinner and she ate all of that and we played some more. She went to bed at 8:15 and straight to sleep. I am really tired and am wondering if I am going to stay awake. I have about 2 1/2 or 3 hrs. left to sit. I got here at 5:00 p.m. and it is now 9:30........z...z...z...z....z....

Little ones are fun, and they keep things simple. I love hanging out with my nieces and nephews because of that...not to mention, they say the FUNNIEST things.

Love the Garfield background, btw.

I just checked my pedometer and it has 14,775 steps and I didn't do a whole lot before I came here today except my walk this morning (8K+ steps). Get lots of steps with toddlers. I usually have between 11,000 and 14,000K.
