My little friend again

Saturday, August 28, 2010

I got a call yesterday from one of my neighbor's that I sit for. She had a chance to go to a concert if I could sit for the little girl who will be 2 in October. I quickly said yes, because I love kids and watching them. I got here this evening and Mom went out and my little friend played and sang and danced. She is talking so much now and I was surprised when I came in and she ask me "where's Larry". I couldn't believe she would remember his name and ask me where he is. She can count and she sang Twinkle Twinkle little Star to me. I have been sitting with her since she was 3 weeks old and I just love her to pieces. We rolled around on the floor and had to "go to sleep" with her babies while on the floor. Well, that only lasted about 5 seconds and it was "time to get up". I made her dinner and she ate all of that and we played some more. She went to bed at 8:15 and straight to sleep. I am really tired and am wondering if I am going to stay awake. I have about 2 1/2 or 3 hrs. left to sit. I got here at 5:00 p.m. and it is now 9:30........z...z...z...z....z....

Little ones are fun, and they keep things simple. I love hanging out with my nieces and nephews because of that...not to mention, they say the FUNNIEST things.

Love the Garfield background, btw.

I just checked my pedometer and it has 14,775 steps and I didn't do a whole lot before I came here today except my walk this morning (8K+ steps). Get lots of steps with toddlers. I usually have between 11,000 and 14,000K.

You may be tired, I know I would be, but it sounds like you had a lot of fun with this darling little girl. It was so kind of you to sit with her and give her a fun evening. emoticon

Something Different

Friday, August 27, 2010

Hubby and I both got up at 4:30 this morning. I asked if he was really getting up and he said yes. So we brewed the coffee and went and sat on the front porch in the dark at 5:00 a.m. We watched the moon as we drank our coffee. It was nice and relaxing and we listened to the night sounds. Saw a couple of neighbors go up the street to go to work. Hubby went in to the Brewster (our chocolate lab) and he went back to bed.......lol...lol....I would never be able to go back to sleep like that. BUT I really sleep well at night every night.

If I don't answer

Thursday, August 26, 2010

I just want to say that I am having so much pain in my arm off and on that if I don't answer your comment on spark page or blog, you will know I am having a bad day. My surgery isn't until next Thursday, 9/2/ and some days I can type and some I can't. I love SP and really don't like if I can't do the things I like to do here. Just remember if I am not here, I am still thinking about you gals/guys. I hope to at least log in everyday, but not sure right after the surgery if I will be able to. Right now I am icing it as I type and that really helps a lot. Will be here before surgery when I can and will see about after. emoticon.

I truly understand. I am just getting the effects of the "lightest" dose of chemo. possible and I sure would hate to see what the heavy duty stuff is like. I had to leave the dining room in the middle of lunch and I just love that metallic taste you get in your mouth from these wonderful drugs. But on the positive side, maybe I will lose some weight!

Sending you a (gentle) hug, my friend.

Follow up of It's Raining, yea

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Well,, I reported at 6:00 that is was pouring rain. It lasted about 15 minutes. So at 7:00, my walking buddy and I started out. We did 3.85 miles and my steps were 8,129. Good for us. BUT halfway back, it started drizzling, but no storm, just rain. We saw a couple of friends just starting their walk, spoke to them and kept going. Well, in just a short time, the sky opened up and we got drenched completely. When about 2 blocks from home, a familiar truck came down the road. My dear husband was coming to get us with towels to dry us. Since we were already drenched, I asked if he might go pick up the other two ladies who were a lot further behind us. He rode to them and held up towels and offered a ride. The were so happy to see him and thanked him all the way back to their cars. I have such a wonderful husband and he is the love of my life. He is such a good person and does nice things for so many people.

Raining, yea, yea !!!!

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

It is raining so hard right now that I can hear the pounding on the roof and into the gutters. I love to sit and watch the rain, but it is 6:00 a.m. and still dark. My walking partner and I have been having to walk at 7:00 because it is still dark at 6:30. I do hope the rain lets up a little but I am sure we will still walk if it isn't actually thundering or lightning. We need the rain so much so I am glad it is here. If we can't walk at 7:00, we will walk later or I will do the bike inside. Would rather walk in the rain..... emoticon and chat.

I hope you enjoy your morning walk today. But it is not such a good idea to walk in the rain....at least not for the 3 or 4 mile walk you prpbably have in mind. Safer is always better though :) Enjoy. emoticon
