Raining, yea, yea !!!!

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

It is raining so hard right now that I can hear the pounding on the roof and into the gutters. I love to sit and watch the rain, but it is 6:00 a.m. and still dark. My walking partner and I have been having to walk at 7:00 because it is still dark at 6:30. I do hope the rain lets up a little but I am sure we will still walk if it isn't actually thundering or lightning. We need the rain so much so I am glad it is here. If we can't walk at 7:00, we will walk later or I will do the bike inside. Would rather walk in the rain..... emoticon and chat.

I hope you enjoy your morning walk today. But it is not such a good idea to walk in the rain....at least not for the 3 or 4 mile walk you prpbably have in mind. Safer is always better though :) Enjoy. emoticon

Doctor visit today

Monday, August 23, 2010

I have been having some problems with my right shoulder for over a year. I did all of the things I was supposed to do and then got an MRI. The results said I needed to have surgery. Instead of having surgery I opted out. Last October I got the final injections that seemed to take care of it for a while. Two weeks ago, started having problems again and finally went to the doctor today. I have finally given in and am going to have surgery Sept. 2. My shoulder hurts so much that I just can't do it any more because of the pain. It is not going to get well without surgery. There will be a 12 week recuperating time that I am not looking forward to. That's it for now.

Hi! I had a shoulder injury years ago (trying to do a cheerleading move with my daughter's team that should only be attempted by teenagers, LOL) and the rehab was the most painful thing I had ever experienced... however, I did NOT give up, and today can lift my arm completely overhead. So hoping that you will only feel BETTER AND BETTER after treatment/surgery & rehab. One thing to look forward to - shoulder pain makes sleeping SO DIFFICULT - you'll finally be able to get comfortable and well rested!!!
Keep us updated and keep your spirits high - everything is going to get better!!! emoticon

Just think how you'll be when the recovery time is over! Soooo much better and hopefully pain free and able to enjoy things you haven't done in a long time. Wish you were here so I could help you afterwards though.

I am too impatient

Sunday, August 22, 2010

I have been having a really hard time posting on Spark People today. It has been so SLOW and it drives me batty. None of the other sites I go to are this slow so I am thing it is just SP. There is so much time between pages and as you know, you go back and forth to lots of pages. It has been like this for about a week but today was really bad. I know my daughter said hers is slow too. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Is anyone else having a problem. I know I am a little impatient ( emoticon), actually a lot when it comes to doing stuff on the computer, but this is really bad. Hopefully, whatever it is will be remedied soon.

I agree. I'm not sure the cause, but the SP site tends to be a bit slow loading. I am not patient about that either. I think SP has some technical issues they need to address. I guess they've been too successful with their site!

Today has been nice and fast, but I have had the slowness for the last week or so too. Hopefully it's back to normal this week.

I sometimes have this problem, but not a lot. Not sure what causes it.

Also, thanks for writing in on my blog yesterday--yes, I love the swimming! Take care, and good luck in your journey!

I think that there are certain times that the site is overwhelmed with Sparkers and it will freeze. It's not your computer it's SP.

I was trying to blog today and it froze. Guess the computer is trying to tell us to get out and enjoy the sunshine! Anyway, here's hoping everything improves! emoticon

Same here I acutally froze my computer up trying to access the spell check.. I guess its a good thing that its not just my computer but I'm sorry yours is going slow too.. I have to refresh every page I go to... sometimes I go to the same page twice and I know I left a comment the first time.. so I have to refresh it to see if my comment left is still there. Its so frustrating.. I hope they can fix all the glitches.. but by far this is the best site for our needs.. so a little patience is in order for now.... I hope it gets better for you soon...

I have this problem alot, and I too am very inpatient, and you should hear my potty mouth when it happens, Luckily today it is working well for me, I think you usually just have to ride it through, I have been told in the past that they are doing updates and things when that happens, don't know if it is true or not.

Happy Weekend Ruby Lites

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Hey Ruby Lites........How are all of you doing today. The weekend is here...what are you doing special. My honey and I are going to the marina for a picnic lunch today. The weather isn't quite as hot as the previous days. When I walked this a.m. I wasn't wondering if I was going to make it. Not quite so humid today. I walked 4.10 miles this morning. Try to get out and do a little something today even if it is only a walk down the block. You will feel so much better. I hope all of you will have a great weekend and remember to make wise choices and eat healthy.

Good morning Nancy and thanks for posting your 4.10 mile walk already today. My 30 minute walk on the treadmill seems pale next to that LOL. Enjoy your picnic lunch with your hubby today. You should have a fun time. Hope it doesn't rain or get to hot. emoticon

PAT challenge

Friday, August 20, 2010

I have been a Ruby-Lite for almost a year now, but only active on the site since April. The PAT challenge is short for Pound-A-Thon. We are on teams of about 15 members and we made a pledge at the beginning of weight we were going to pledge during the challenge. I am maintaining but I still enjoy reading the messages and participating in the different daily challenges. Our team is the Hacky Honeys and the ladies I have met are certainly "honeys" (so sweet). This team has members that really participate and support each other. We chat quite a bit on the team thread and also send messages to individuals pages. This challenge is helping me maintain because it makes me ACCOUNTABLE. I really need that. When we finish this challenge if a pledge isn't met, that is okay because we know we tried and we can always START a new day if we slide a little backwards (we all do that sometimes). We just have to MOVE FORWARD and make it happen.

Love your blog and it is encouraging to know that once we reach our goals, it will be possible to maintain as we never have in the past.
