2 more Things decided

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Today we decided on cabinet color for the kitchen in our new home. Yesterday, we decided on the appliances. This has really been a tough decision because I don't like appliances that are white, black or stainless. I know 90% of sales are for stainless steel. It is just not for me. I don't like black because it shows every little speck of dust and fingerprints. We decided on the GE profile because it has stainless and black both on the appliance. It is pretty equal in each amount. At least it is broken up so it is not ALL stainless or ALL black. I do believe I will like that just fine. We did choose the Electrolux French Door refrigerator. We looked at the other Electrolux appliances but didn't get a price on them. I think I won't get a price on them because they are all stainless with no black....BUT the quality of them looks so well made. We have always been G.E. people and I guess that is where we are going again. This is our decision as of today. emoticon. There are just too many things to pick from.

Sometimes, choices are hard, aren't they? I'm glad you didn't choose All Black...In February we got a new stove & fridge (All Black) they show everything emoticon

I'm so glad you found something that will work for you. It always seems like there are so many decisions to make even just in selecting an appliance (color, style, size, manufacturer, price, etc.) It can get too much too quickly.

Sitting again

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

This evening I will be toddler sitting for the little 1 1/2 yr old girl in my neighborhood. I just love sitting with her. We cook, play ring around the rosies, sing and dance a lot. Children sure can make you feel young again (or make you feel really old). She is such a sweet little girl. I have watched her since she was 3 weeks old. She had colic and cried all of the time. I would just hold her, rock or or walk with her. The first time I watched her, she didn't cry 20 minutes out of 2 hours...and it was not 20 minutes at one time. It was pretty tough for her mom and that was time she could have a little break when I was there. NOW it is so different. She is a sweet little toddler and a pleasure to watch.....

Thanks Spark Friends

Monday, August 16, 2010

I want all of you to know how much you mean to me. My daughter got me on SP even though I was maintaining. I thought what would I do on a weight loss group when I am maintaining . Well, let me tell you....I have met some of the nicest people here. No matter whether your problem is big or small, there is always someone to talk with and for you to let them know how you feel. I see blogs where people are so down and lost and they let Spark friends know and immediately "help" is on the way. You hear back from them how much they were helped by the messages of encouragement sent to them and that they were not alone. There is also good things written about......success stories, how well someone is doing being on Spark and doing the challenges. I am a Lifetime WW for about 9 years but decided when I got on SP that I wanted to lower my goal another 6 pounds. I did that, thanks to the motivation here. As some of you know, the scale is my motivator but I like counting SP as my motivator too. I want to do good to write about it and to let everyone know it can be done. There are some amazing stories here about the weight loss journey of so many Spark friends . emoticon Nancy

You hit it right spot on. The people on spark are all nice, but these Ruby teams are beyond special. And when they say they care, it is not just words, they mean it. I love it here.

    Nancy,
SP is a lot more than a weight loss site...the people are so kind, giving & encouraging. I met my goal with SP 4 months ago, but I'm still on here every day. I need the friends I have on this site; they are just wonderful! Like you, my new friend! I'm very grateful for all of the people on this site!

Hugs
Teresa

I just love it here.. I get the support and motivation that I have never gotten before... I love all the friendships that are formed here and the teams.. I agree this is the place to be if you need friends... SP friends are going through or have gone through or will be going through the same things as us and thats a wonderful bond..

I can't Believe It

Sunday, August 15, 2010

It has been so hot and humid today. It is almost 7:00 pm and the temperature is still 92. I don't know why I can't believe it because it has been like this for weeks. I guess my disbelief is that it is still a hot streak.......Have a good evening everyone.

We had a brief reprieve from our heat streak. Today the high was 79!! A humid 79, but way better than a humid 100! Tomorrow back to hot and humid though emoticon

We only hit m90 today so I thought about putting a jacket on. LOL I don't wear a coat until the first snow flies. But this summer has been terribly hot here too.

Update on appliances

Sunday, August 15, 2010

So many of you commented on my blog yesterday regarding "oiled bronze appliances". At the present time Jennair is the only company that has that color. It came out in 2008 but didn't really catch on. Yesterday we went to an very large appliance center in Raleigh, NC. They had on display a wall oven in that color. However, Jennair is coming out with a "new" oiled bronze this year that is slightly different from the previous. It kind of looks like a wood grain bronze and is a slightly darker color. I am thinking that it might do the trick. AND, GE has a new color called Champagne that I really like. The problem with that is, it only comes in a washer/dryer. I guess they bring it out in w/d because then if people like it, they can bring the color into all of their appliances without wasting money on complete kitchens of appliances if no one likes the color. I would definitely go with the champagne if I could get it in all appliances. I have checked with centers and they say nothing coming in the next year except White, Stainless, and black. I guess I am back where I started.

Did you like it as much after you actually saw it in person?

At least Jennair is coming out with what you can use soon. GE seems to be more of an uncertain thing. But by the time you are ready,GE may also have what you want. Good luck! emoticon
