My walking buddy is back

Thursday, July 08, 2010

My walking buddy is back. She was gone for 2 1/2 weeks and then I was gone for 5 days. Now we are both back to walking together and it is so much easier than by myself. Today we did 4.53 miles and even though we left at 6:30 a.m. it was still very humid. We both talked, sweated and kept on moving. So much easier to have some to tell...come on let's keep going or for her to tell me, we are almost there. Yay. Nancy

Didn't recover

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Well, my phone did not recover from the pool party it jumped in. I tried the rice in a bag, the refrigerator, even the hair dryer. It still would only come on and then go off. Had to bite the bullet and get a new one today. Now the problem, figuring out how everything on it works. I at least have a book to read to see what and how to do the things it does. Isn't it aggravating when you buy a piece of electronic equipment and you get no owner's manual. Just says look on line to see the manual. I like to have a book....that way you can read it, know what if will or will not do instead of just playing around with it to check it out. I LIKE having a book...but that might just be my generation or a big part of it. Even when I buy a new car, I read the books from front to back. Nancy

We've had the book conversation so many time lately, LOL. Almost nothing comes with owner's manuals anymore. I'm really glad you got a new phone and that it does come with a book!

I can't believe they don't give you a book, What if you are not around a computer to look up the book? Good luck with the new phone

What I miss are all my numbers!! Taking the time to reload them in. It is our only phone--no land line now so it's loaded!! Good luck! Brenda

I am like you, I would like the book to figure out how they work. Last year when I got my new car I sat and read the book. Most of the people I know never open them up.

Back to Normal

Tuesday, July 06, 2010

Well, I have had a whole day home and didn't get in the car once. We went 1158 miles from Wednesday to Monday......that was a lot of driving. We were looking at houses in VA. We did find one and made an offer. Offer was accepted as offered......Yay. This morning I did my regular walk, and did some gardening, washed clothes, ironed and have been busy. I like being busy. AND my phone still doesn't work. If it doesn't work tomorrow, I will have to go get a new one. That is a bummer.....I assure you things could be a lot worse.......I always try to find the positive in all that seems bad. Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July. Nancy

Good think I got back from vacation when I did because......

Monday, July 05, 2010

We just had a little 5-day vacation and I sure did some looney things while gone. First I broke my little finger when I was reaching into the back seat. On the 4th we were at my brother's pool party and my cousin was in the water with some sort of squirt tube. I finally got tired of him "getting" me and went to just maybe splash him. As I got closer to the pool, I decided to just "cannonball " him. That would have been fine if I hadn't had all of my clothes on and my telephone attached to my waist. I didn't care about the clothes, but didn't even think about the phone. Everyone was hollering as I was in mid-air, but of course I couldn't hear them nor stop the cannonball. The phone has been in rice and hopefully it will work.Next thing, I turned on my laptop to do my favorite SP. Couldn't get the remote mouse to work. Went to store to get new batteries and put them in.....still didn't work. I had 63 emails and just started doing them with the computer mouse pad.......which I am very slow doing. Got all of them done after all of the scrolling. My daughter called and I told her the problem I was having and that I was going tomorrow to get a new mouse. She said to make sure I had the mouse stick plugged into the computer all of the way. I looked to check it out, and I hadn't even put it in the computer, it was still stored in the mouse.....DUH..... My daughter told me I shouldn't have left the computer in the car because the heat could damage it. I was doing mySP and I heard this cracking and popping and I thought OMG, she was right. I put my ear closer to the computer and just was so worried. I finally realized it was the Fireworks video playing in the background that she posted on SP. I think I better go to bed and start over tomorrow. Don't think I am taking anymore vacations......I just love staying home and I seem to function much better.

What a bizarre time you had. Would you call your family slightly neurotic or definitely disfunctional? LOL

West

Friday, July 02, 2010

We are in WV visiting some really long-time friends. Yesterday we were in Waynesboro, VA looking at houses. We still haven't made a decision on one yet. We are going back tomorrow to look at another one we weren't able to get into yesterday. It is really hard to find just what you want. We are going to my brother's in VA for July 4th celebration and there will be lots of family there that we haven't seen for some time. He has a pool in his yard and I am sure it will be a fun time for all. emoticon Nancy

emoticon emoticonEnjoy your weekend. Have you ever thought of building your dream home? Or adding on? Let me know because that is what my husband does. You can customize your own and get exactly what you want. Virginia is a great area. We also have a timeshare in Mcgayesville, Va. and love it there. Not to far from Harrisonburg. emoticon
