We are in WV visiting some really long-time friends. Yesterday we were in Waynesboro, VA looking at houses. We still haven't made a decision on one yet. We are going back tomorrow to look at another one we weren't able to get into yesterday. It is really hard to find just what you want. We are going to my brother's in VA for July 4th celebration and there will be lots of family there that we haven't seen for some time. He has a pool in his yard and I am sure it will be a fun time for all. Nancy

My little Friend

I babysit for several children in the neighborhood because I love children so much. Today I was sitting for about 1 1/2 hrs with a little year and half toddler. We just played and had so much fun. We played "cooking" and she went and got two of her little aprons. I had to put one on her and one on me. Can you imagine how that little child's apron looked on me? It didn't matter to her, so it didn't matter to me either. I hadn't seen her for about 3 weeks because they have been away. She kind of hung on Mama when I first got there, but in 2 minutes she was raising her arms for me to take her. We had a great time playing and when Mama got home she put her down for a nap. Mama wrote me on FB that the first thing my little friend said was my name when she awoke. She kept repeating my name and looking for me. I was so proud. Nancy

I am a teachers' aide and the best part of my job is the hugs from the kids. I can't get enough of them. I love my job so much and am so happy to have found something that I like to do for a living. I did clerical work for over 30 years and was miserable and thought there was nothing else I could do, but I was wrong. My daughter wants to be a daycare teacher and I think she will be good at it. One things our children can never have too much of, is our love and total acceptance; and as you gave ATTENTION. Especially good attention when they are doing something good. Sometimes I think the only time some kids get attention is when they are misbehaving and get "yelled" out. Maybe it isn't as prevalent as I think it is. Anyway, congrats and you should be proud. You have made a special memory for this child.. I was very lucky to teach a class full or 4 & 5 yrs old quite a few yrs ago.. I still get MIss Martha in the store & turn to see a high school age child I have no idea who they are. They tell me of how I touched their lives when they were little. Well, the end of the week has come and my reign of Ruby-Lite of the week also ended. I am so honored for being chosen. I also want to thank everyone for the out pouring of emails, congrats, and spark goodies. I tried to answer all personally and hope I didn't miss anyone. I really love Spark People and know that it gives so much encouragement and support. I read blogs that are sad and ones that are happy and it makes you stop and truly think about life. I am a person who always tries to find a positive in everything........sometimes you have to look a little harder. I want to wish everyone good luck on this weight loss journey and remember to always look forward. Nancy

We have had severe thunderstorm warnings for the past 3 days. Guess what..a lot of thunder, a little lightning and NO RAIN. We need rain so badly and have only had a few drizzles. I would just love to have a nice rain to do my walk. It has been so hot that I haven't been doing my full walk because of the heat. Even if we have a really bad storm, that would hopefully help cool things down. Then a walk in the cooler temps would be great. My walking partner returns tomorrow and maybe she can encourage me to go for complete walk even with the temps high. To all of you who do your walk with this extreme walk I give you lots of "High Fives" Nancy

Same here, noise and lightning but minimal rain. One day it rained for a few minutes about 1 mile away and there was steam coming up from the road. It didn't rain enough to cool anything down. I don't do outside in this weather. Report Inappropriate Comment

I hope it gets cooler soon! It's been so hot here too!! We did have a slight break yesterday...in the 90's but much lower humidity. It was back to yucky today. You need rain too? We have been in a 3 yr drought...its hectic. But at least we had a little rain recently and our dam has gotten a little more water now. We went from 17% - 25% so we're smiling now.
