still at it

Thursday, April 03, 2014

Here I am again working on losing the same 50-60 pounds I have been holding on too. I like to think that I am more motivated this time around to really lose it. My hubs has been told he has high cholesterol and if he does not show a move to lowing his weight and Cholesterol levels in 6 month they want to put him on medicine and he does not want that so we are working together on this. Well sort of. He is trying to eat less and will eat what I fix. But the light bulb has not really gone on in his head if you know what I mean. He hasn't taken the healthy lifestyle to heart yet, learnig about what to eat and what not too etc. I am hoping he will come around soon so we can really share in this together.

I am also much more motivated to work out. I have been swimming this past week. I have swim spa so I have not excuse not to be using it daily. I am swimming 15 minutes straight right now and then doing some water excerises for 10 to 15 minutes. Next week I will up to 20 minutes.

Another New Year

Sunday, January 02, 2011

How many times have I been here making new plans for the new year. What can I do to make this year different. What can I do make my goals come to fruition? I need to come to the Lord on my knees. Every morning, every meal, every evenning and every time inbetween.

I have had rough 2010. I have to get back on track for my own emotional and physical health.

We had such a good sermon to day. Isaiah 43:19 "Behold I will do something new, Now it will spring forth. Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness." This is my verse for the year. The first part tells me that the Lord is listening to me and is ready to something new in me. The middle part tells me that I have watch and listen for Him. the last part tells me that where I can't see what or how He is going to work in my life, I don't have to worry because He will make a way to do the new thing.

Sometimes we just have to listen to what direction the Lord is trying to take us. Good Luck on your Journey with the Lord.

Fried Cardio

Friday, July 30, 2010

I need to remember to blog every few days to keep me active and accountable. Whether any reads them or not is not important. It helps to keep me actively working on this journey of a Healthful life.
I have been eating way to many fried foods as of late. With all that okra coming out of my garden.... well since I have to dump the old oil out, I just won't fill it back up.

I am part of a weight loss study group with the University of Florida. It is an eighteen month program and we have a meeting on monday. We have not met for since last year. It should be an interesting meeting. They are going to be showing us a "Walk Florida" program that is like a five week get moving incentive thing. So we will meet for 5 weeks and I know they are going to want us to be walking. I don't like thinking about cardio but I know I should be doing it. Maybe between this and the study I might find that switch to turn on.

I just did fried green tomatoes in olive oil YUM. I pan fry stuff with olive oil once in a while and don't feel so bad about it. I can cook up a couple of servings of stuff in about a tablespoon of healthy oil and it tastes great. I always use olive oil when I stir-fry.

Trade you some zucchini for some okra!

I am so jealous of your fresh, I love fresh veggies! Instead of deep-frying, try breading with a little bit of cornmeal, then lightly sauteing in a skillet or wok for a few minutes. As a Southern girl I love me some deep-fried okra but I know that it's not as healthy for me!

You'd be surprised how many people might read your blog. Keep posting & stay motivated!!

Well I feel like I have really gotten some things done today. I got the kitchen cleaned up and picked up the house, swept the utility room and all tile floor. Which is a biggie for me. We live out in the county with lots of sand and two dogs that come in an out all day long so I have a sandbox everyday in the house. THEN I when out side and worked on burning the last pile of slash from the trees we had cut a few weeks ago. I worked on it one and off all day. While I was working out in the yard my neighbor came over to pick some pears which I helped her do. She has back troubles. then i when in and made a pear pie which I am about to eat a slice of. I would have ice cream on it but we don't have any emoticon

Just logged my food and did my upper body work out and I am pooped.

No brusies

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Wednesday, I have to work today. I usually work one day a week for a private ambulance service anywhere from 6 to 12 hours. I use to do a full 24 once a week but I can't do them any more.

I got my fitness in and logged it. It makes me feel good to do it. I don't know why I have such a hard time to keep doing it. You would think something that makes you feel that good doing it you would want to do it every day. Let me know if anyone has that one figured out yet.

I had a terrible day of eating yesterday but it sure was good! I well not bet myself up but do better today.
