Vandal sent me a link to an article about goals.
A few comments hit home for me:
Becky said, "stick to your own race, with your own goals and expectations." Everyone is different and has different needs and goals. I need to do what is right for me.
This is an affirmation for me. I have been sticking with my plan.(more or less, went away this weekend, but I still did pretty good.) For me it is not a race, it is a lifestyle and a challenge for me to grow. To walk those few extra steps, to make healthy choices, reaching for my own goals.
The last few night I really had to push myself to go to the pool, I am really glad that I did go.
Joe said, "If you’re not willing to make a major change right away, it may be best to aim a little lower and work your way into it." Small changes do add up over time. Changing from white bread to 100% whole wheat took time. We did baby steps, making grilled cheese with !00% whole wheat bread first, then english muffins, then pitas. Now my family does not like white bread. So it can be done just stick with it. The same thing with doing a 5K, you have to build up to it. I like creating that foundation to build on, it makes me stronger and makes it easier for me to maintain, because it becomes part of me.
There are times when paths cross that is when opportunity comes for sharing what works for you and hearing what works for others.
