This was totally fun. I enjoyed it tremendously and it reminded me of things I didn't think about for a long time. Just reminds me that my kids and 6 year old granddaughter have to show me things with some of the tech savvy gadgets and when I get a smart phone can go to them to figure out how to use all the stuff on the phone. They laugh when I do that. I got a smart tv and need to see when they would have time to help me figure all of it out. You have to go online for the manual and I do better being shown how to do it. Sorry about babbling on, just a thing I do sometimes. lol emoticon emoticon emoticon

Week 2 Of the Biggest Looser Challenge has ended.

My struggles this week was the 5k and the 500 step ups, with punches. I did them but again not easy for me, still have to stop and rest. I'm waiting for the day I can say not bad and push myself a bit more.

Dinner and The Feast of St. Francis With Blessing of the Animals went well for me food wise. Wit an added dinner out with the family that I wasn't countering on. I stay within calories.

I did well on the OZ Challenge point wise buy my carb counts were out of control.

My sneak peak didn't have me dancing, I think because of the high carbs and too much sugar from all the fruits

I'm a little frustrated because I am going to be out all day tomorrow (going to Atlantic City with my church) and it's Last Chance Workout Day.

My plan for week 3 is to get my carb count back within range and do as much exercise as I can.

Where DID this month go? With all the bustle you've written about, were you able to press forward with some exercise? A little here, a little there...

Here's sending you GOOD WISHES for the energy and breathing to chip away at it.

Maybe you can find some stairs to take while you are with church group? I know I walked for 7 minutes before Sunday school, doing the building, going down and back up staircases this Sunday to add exercise. It was cold in the building so I really wanted to warm myself up, did not bring a jacket! I huffed and puffed the stairs and did one four times just to do it. None here, or not many so had to make do while in town.

I bet you will be more focused next week now that you had a few things that didn't go so well. You can do it!

Sounds like you have had some great success there!!

1- You worked out and you know your limitations (for now) but you did it!! KUDOS!!
2.- You realized your carb count is high. Knowing is half the battle.

As for LCW- Atlantic City baby!! If you can, why don't you add up those steps emoticon

You are doing emoticon

Pretty cute way to do a challenge.
I'm not in it though... I did just get my spark tracker today in the mail,
have it on but it missed my hike to the neighbors. It's fun how many steps I had this afternoon tidying and making apple bread, well, trying out a recipe for the first time, as someone gave me lots of apples.
Have a dandy weekend.

PAWSE - Week 2

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

Week 1 Of the Biggest Looser Challenge done and I lost 4 pounds I am "Happy" sore but "Happy".

My biggest struggle this week was the 5k and the 500 step ups.

I did a walking 5k with Leslie Sansone You Tube Video

www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDGFw9Bf6h0

I had to stop and rest because of COPD my breathing gave out,but I finished it !!!!

The 500 step ups took me 6 sessions to complete. My right knee is still a bit sore.

All in all I have to say I am proud of myself. I have done things this week I didn't think I could. It gives me hope that I will get even better.

I have a few Challenges coming up this week

Saturday I am going to five o'clock mass with Hubby and then we are going out to dinner. Since we also have the Land of Oz Challenge (eat the rainbow each day) I plan to have a salad with grilled chicken and a fruit salad.

Sunday I an going to The Feast of St. Francis With Blessing of the Animals with Hubby, son Jamie, daughter in law Stacey, my grandson Lucas and their dog Riley.
Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, the celebration will feature a blessing and procession of a variety of creatures through the world’s largest Gothic cathedral. Animals that have participated in years past include camels, kangaroos, yaks, elephants, fennec foxes, and many more. Guests are encouraged to bring their pets to the Cathedral to be a part of the celebration and to receive a special blessing. An outdoor fair where Cathedral clergy will bless pets will be held from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM and will include festive music, food, a petting zoo, face painting, and tables full of information on environmental advocacy and animal and human rights.

There will be plenty of walking so I will get a lot of exercise, but there will also be lots of food, I am going to bring lots of bottles of water and lot's of fruit with me. I hope I can stay strong and keep away from all the goodies.
Wish me Luck

My plan for week 2 - Repeat what I have done in week one and eat a rainbow each day

TURBULENT TWISTS THURSDAY 10/2/2013

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

TURBULENT TWISTS THURSDAY

You will need a deck of cards for these workouts!
Suggestions for cardio include high knees, butt kicks, boxing side to sides, burpees, mountain climbers, jumping jacks...anything that will keep your HR up for the duration of your card count!

All Cards 2 through 10 = Face Value reps

J, Q, K = 10 reps

Aces = 11 reps

Jokers = 1 or 11 reps (depending on your ambition)

To begin your circuit, you'll flip 3 cards face up! The total of the 3 cards added together are the number of reps you perform for first exercise! Once your done with your first lower exercise, flip 3 more cards, and the total of those 3 cards are the number of reps you perform for the second exercise! Continue flipping, adding and exercising until you have gone through at least 1/2 of the deck...1 time through the circuit! Your ultimate goal, by the end of BLC, will be to eventually make it through the entire deck, completing the circuit 2 times!

Lower Cardio

Dumbbell Squats 18 - 15
Forward Lunges with Dumbbells 27 - 13

Upper Cardio

Seated Dumbbell Rows 26 - 10
Close-Arm Wall Pushups 18 - 22

Core Lower

Hip Flexor 30 - 19
Seated Knee Lifts with Chair 27 - 18

Upper Core

Dumbbell Side Bends 31 - 28
Standing Side Bend with Towel 16 - 24
