I started out with such a bang and had so many mini goals to hit then when I reviewed them I realized they have been lofty. But one thing for sure they were there staring right back at me pushing me along. So far I have learned that this all takes time, this weight did not come on me over night and it will not be off in a few weeks.
Since joining SP I have seen so many success stories and I too want to be one, but I have to say I feel it daily whenever I hit the gym and have a good workout. I have learned to crave the sweat and exhaustion I have after a good good workout. I am also starting to see definition in my arms and feel the lean muscle and best of all, my stomach is going down. I was initially feeling it in my clothes but now I can actually see it in the mirror. But the truth be told I am deathly afraid of the sag that can come with too much weight loss too fast. I have been in a plateau for the last 4 to 6 weeks, either maintaining the same weight or gaining a pound or losing that same pound that I gained. With that in mind I have been really focusing on loosing up to 2 lbs a week and do more reps than weights in the gym. I am hoping this will be a big sag buster especially in my inner thighs and stomach, I just started on a 4 week personal challenge to see if that makes any difference, I hope so.
Tomorrow, a girlfriend and I will meet with a personal fitness trainer, now my friend may fall out but she is willing to do it with me because she knows how serious I am, I am hoping that I gain some pointers in how to improve my workouts and design a fitness program that will give the results I am looking for. We will see.
I am also trying to adjust my lifestyle where life revolves around my activities to keep me centered, relaxed and focused on the simple things. I am trying out different activities and sports that I want to enjoy during this second half of my life. For my anniversary at work I accepted the gift of golf clubs, they should be here within the next few weeks and that same girlfriend of mine, well we are going to start golfing, she already golfs and has talked to me about it for years so now I think I am ready to try it.
Well, this is where I am so far, to sum it up. I have accomplished the food thing: consistency--yeah
Next the workouts have been erratic but I have averaged 3 days a week I want to up that to 4 or 5 with consistency being the key.
Finally, I have learned that it is all a process in make a lifestyle change.
I believe I will make the change for good.

Ok, got in two good workouts today and I feel good. Did my regular morning workout in the gym then this afternoon did Day 1 of 30 Day Shred. This is definitely going to be a challenge for me because I have so many little ailments, i.e. my knees. But, I am not going to let that put me out of the game, I am going to put on the knee brace and work it!! Or, just do a modified version or whatever it takes to get through it.
