We arrived in VA on Sunday evening and you could feel the excitement. There were signs, tee shirts, hats.....everything OBAMA!!! It was an awesome sight...The first night we attended a "Jeans Balls" We partied until the early morning hours. We spent the first half of MLK day, recuperating from the night before watching all the tributes on television...then we headed into DC...It was the day before and it looked like New York City in front of Macy's on Christmas week..people everywhere and again, it was the day before...We signed flags that were being sent to the White House...we purchased memorabilia and we took lots of photos...well not that many, because it was about 17degrees that evening... , but it was all worth it. We turned in early and prepared for the big day...We caught the Metro from VA to DC, but again we were late... , so fortunately we missed the crowds on the train. We made our way into DC around 11am and boy am I glad...because I am from the North, but after being in GA for 5 years...I have definitely become Southernized...Your girl was freezing!!!! We were so far back...I couldn't tell the direction of the jumbo tron, but there was so much love...so much excitement...so much joy and passion amongst the people it didn't even matter. I made history, I was there!!!! And that was truly a blessing!! This was an experience I will forever cherish.
Peace and Blessing
