This happened last night right under the Jimmy Davis Bridge they went swimming. I want to encourage everyone who doesn't know or hasn't learned to please learn to swim also please make sure that if you are near the waterways you wear your life jackets everyone needs one. This has shaken our city to lose 6 teens just like that. God bless. emoticon

Thanks Lynn, sometimes we seem to think our problems are the worst, but there is always someone who needs our prayers more! We must continue to pray for everyone in our world as we never know what is going on elsewhere! emoticon

Heavenly Father we ask for for your grace an infinite mercy for the families in the days/weeks/months even years ahead. We need you to strengthen each and everyone who is involved especially those who will feel guilty for not being able to save the children. Right now I know that it is not much solace to say that they will be with the Father in heaven, but I hope the families know that they will see them again if they desire to do so after Jesus returns. emoticon

God bless you Lynnamin for bring this to our community.

Newsweek Poll: How Much Is Beauty Worth at Work?

Monday, July 19, 2010

Today's job market is tough enough, ask anyone who has been laided off , down sized or off-shored, but now, not only do you have to compete with more skilled applicants, but there's also a segment of the interview process for fashion and beauty!! Really...Fashion and Beauty!! Technology has allowed us to see friends and family around the global with a click of a button..but mentally we have not evolved enough to look beyond the external **if only for a moment **to see what really matters...This is soooo sad!!

Am I Too Big for Love?

Thursday, July 08, 2010

Good Morning SP Friends

I generally get up in the morning...say a prayer...get a light workout in, log on to SP and prepare for my Exodus to work; this morning I couldn't help but to take a few moments to read this article!! When I first saw the title, I said OOOOH Boy hear we go~~~but in summary the article spoke to the necessity of loving YOU right where YOU are. Not everyone wants, needs or desires the same body type. In our journey's to become fit and healthy we must be mindful to check our motives...Ask yourself "What's really driving me?!! My love for me or my need for LOVE?

Ask Dr. Gilda: Am I Too Big for Love?

Peace and Blessings

Wow... Lynn, thank you so much for this... I needed to read this "TODAY", because it's not just about being over weight as breast cancer has altered me physically and I sometimes wonder about this same thing when it comes to having a relationship, along with the other physical things about myself that I am not happy with... But the bottom line is that, there is no "right way to be" because I am "OK" now ... I must admit that I am not there yet, but I am working on this and hope that soon I can fully embrace this... I am printing this out for daily reference when I start doubting my worthiness... I know that it begins with "ME"...

    Thanks for sharing this today.

I don't think it's about the weight, it's all about how YOU carry yourself. If you carry yourself thinking no man will love me at 300 lbs then guess what no man ever will. You have to hold your head high no matter what weight you are. Because I never let my weight stand in the way of me finding love. The truth of the matter is, I am worth loving at ANY SIZE!!

WOW! Dr.G was on point. If you dont value yourself, expect others not to value either. You are putting it out there first--that you are not worth it and a waist of time.Thats a bunch of JUNK! I have lived with that 'head down' mentality before & I can say from experience that when you start believing in the promises of God and realize that the Lord values you, then YOU ARE WORTH IT! You dont have to be in the back of the line, you dont have to hold the purses or pretend that you are not hungry just because you are in public. You have to be happy with you. I have decided until the weight comes off Im gonna 'carry' it like a brand new purse---with style.

In reference to love...God's love can surpass anything that any human can give, but he knows and cares how we feel. He will provide someone to share your life with.

Keep Sparkin'

I am with you sis. We, too often, decide that we aren't worthy of love because we are not walking around looking like the next J-Lo. I am working on that myself. Instead of looking for the perfect size to make me happy, I am working on being happy with me RIGHT NOW! The rest will follow when we have a good and healthy perspective. Thanks for the reminder. emoticon

Great article, it is very important to know and love yourself. I have met some guys that I have found quite comical when they try to convince me that I don't want to be bothered with them because I am ashamed of my body or lack self esteem. No I'm fine and you are simple! Don't assume that because I'm overweight...or just a bit fluffy, that I am unhappy -not true!

I love me at any size, but health issues have helped me determine that I need to have a healthier body. I love me, that's my motivation.

Motives are so important in our lives and daily decision-making processes, in fact one of my fav scriptures (1Cor 13) states that if we do the right things with the wrong motives or missing the main ingredient we haven't really done the right thing.

Besides, if I am uncomfortable with myself then others will automatically be uncomfortable with me and question my own worth, because if I don't value myself why should they.

Great article, I found this line to be the truth: . As soon as YOU accept your beauty, so will a terrific guy.

I learned back in my twenties, people can tell you are unhappy just by looking at you and choose not to approach you....

GREAT questions about what is really driving us! I learned a long time ago that if you don't love yourself, you will not really find love. People (and food) just can't fill that void. Thanks for the inspiration this morning!
