5 Months and Rebirth

I've thought about my surgery recently as almost a rebirth. A chance at becoming the person I was meant to be. First my health then other aspects of my life will follow!

It's an adventure for sure! I can't wait to see where life takes me!

Stats as of 5 months post-op:

Weight: 207.8
Loss: 106

A unique and different problem for me.

So I have lost 56lbs so far and am now facing the ANNOYING issue of baggy clothing. I purchased a few maternity pants a size smaller and they seem to work nicely for my pants issue. As for tops, I don't really want to spend hours sifting through clothing racks at goodwill - "Ain't nobody got time for that!". So do I just go ahead and spend a some money on some nice work tops?? I have to look semi-presentable! lol. These baggy, faded cardis are just not doing me justice at the moment. And my 22/24 tank tops are getting baggier by the day.

I know. It's not a horrible problem to have. I could be going the other way like the old days.

    Congratulations on outshrinking your wardrobe! My personal solution to that problem is to shop the clearance racks. There are often some great deals to be found. Best of luck to you!

    I'm looking forward to having that problem. I have a couple pairs of jeans that are getting loose, but I still have some clothes that I used to wear, and I'm looking forward to wearing them. My plan is to invest in a couple new things when I know I'm down sizes, but I'm hoping that I enjoy having this problem when I get there! Good for you!

    So I always like to splurge and buy a new work outfit when I go down a size. It just makes me feel better.

Have you tried freecycle or even a similar sized friend? You are going to keep losing so you just need that in-between clothing until you get even smaller!

HLC Challenge - Week 1

1. What are your goals for this challenge? What do you want to accomplish (doesn't specifically have to be weight related) over these next 8 weeks?

I want to increase my protein and water intake and walk daily.

2. How will you go about reaching those goals and work toward those accomplishments? What do you need to do to make them happen?

I am tracking everything. I plan to eat Omega-3 fish at least 2 times each week and walk for a half hour during my lunch hour.

I'm a mom!

I love being a mom! I've wanted this for so long. My little girl is now a little over 2 months old and I have lost 35lbs of the baby weight which was mostly water weight. I was so swollen!! I need to lose 40lbs just to get back to where I was before the pregnancy. My husband and I are going on a cruise with his family in August and I'd like to wear a bathing suit!

I have been making a million excuses and I'm not sure how to get started. I'm still home with the baby but I'm going back to work in 2 weeks. I really need to find a way to get exercise in. I'm so exhausted since we have a night owl and my husband works so much that I have her pretty much all the time. I know I could walk with her but it's been so hot around here that I hate dragging her out!

I want to start going to the gym but I feel very guilty doing that when I'm going to be working all day that taking that extra hour seems just mean. Does anyone have suggestions on that for me?

    Congrats on the new baby. I have a new granddaughter who is one month old. You are doing fantastic with your weight loss. You might want to check out one of the other sites from Sparkpeople.
