VACATION = MOTIVATION!!!

Yes to me Vacation really does = Motivation, well to me it has made a difference...each day the past few weeks I keep thinking to myself, now do I really need to eat this or that? I have been making really good food choices at last!!!

Tomorrow hubby and I are off on a well needed vacation and I do not want to the the "fat lady on the beach" that is great motivation for me....

Oh I just cannot wait to escape the -23C windchill here this morning....by Friday morning I will have white sandy beach, beautiful ocean, palm trees and best of all a temperature of +30C WooHoo bring it on.... oh I can already feel the warmth on my skin radiating through to my bones.... oh yeah it feel so good...

Since hubby joined me in early January to lose some weight he has lost 14-lbs and I have lost 7-lbs, now comes the hard part.... keeping it off while we are on vacation.... my plan is walk, swim each day and keep on making those better food choices.

Does anyone know why grocery shopping can leave you mentally exhausted?

Is it just me or what! Keeping all the groceries and medication etc. up to date for the house just leaves me mentally drained.

I do not go out to work, I have no kids left at home yet it is still drains me to mentally keeping the fridge stocked.

How do "Mom's" work full time and have kids in school, I just don't know how they do it I know I could never have ever done that.

Oh well that's my rant for the day, so now I had better go and empty the car and fill the fridge up again!

Does anyone have raynards?

Both my hands and feet get extremely itching, painful, and dis-coloured when ever they get cold. I have started to wear rubber gloves while taking food out of the freezer.

I would love to here from anyone else who has this for idea's, discussions, and how they work around this.
I am getting obsessed with keeping my fingers and feet warm, I cannot even walk on a tiled floor anymore.

Twas the night before Christmas and all round my hips
Were shortbread cookies that sneaked past my lips.
Fudge brownies were stored in the freezer with care
In hopes that my thighs would forget they were there.

While Mama in her girdle and I in chin straps
Had just settled down to sugar-borne naps.
When out in the pantry there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the kitchen I flew like a flash,
Tore open the icebox then threw up the sash.
The marshmallow look of the new-fallen snow
Sent thoughts of a binge to my body below.

When what to my wandering eyes should appear
A marzipan Santa with eight chocolate reindeer!
That huge chunk of candy so luscious and slick
I knew in a second that I’d wind up sick.

The sweet-coated santa, those sugared reindeer
I closed my eyes tightly but still I could hear;
On Atkins, on South Beach, on weak one, on TOPS
A Weight Watcher dropout from sugar detox.

From the top of the scales to the top of the hall
Now dash away pounds now dash away all.
Dressed up in Holt Renfrew from my head to nightdress
My clothes were all bulging from too much excess.

My droll little mouth and my round little belly,
They shook when I laughed like a bowl full of jelly.
I spoke not a word but went straight to my work
Ate all of the candy then turned with a jerk.

And laying a finger beside my heartburn
Gave a quick nod toward the bedroom I turned.
I eased into bed, to the heavens I cry–
If temptation’s removed I’ll get thin by and by.

And I mumbled again as I turned for the night
In the morning I’ll starve… ’til I take that first bite!
