It's been four months since I started this journey. It was the day after Valentine's Day and I was at my highest weight of 190 lbs. I remember feeling miserable that day. I went shopping for new jeans and nothing looked good on me. I can still remember the way I felt when I saw my reflection in the dressing room mirror. THAT CAN'T BE ME!!! But I knew it was, and I was so sad, so disappointed in myself for not taking care of my body. I decided it was about time I did something about it and changed my life for the better! The thought was so clear and I felt something just click. I went home, logged into SparkPeople, made a pledge to myself to become healthy - and I never looked back!
I have now lost almost 30 pounds since then. Slow and steady! I'm making progress and learning new things every day. Looking back, I can't even begin to explain the ways in which my life has changed for the better! I am a whole new person today as I'm writing this. I have a lot more confidence, I feel beautiful and strong and healthy, I look forward to working out and no longer spend hours on end watching TV. I no longer have intense anxiety and I haven't had anxiety attacks in months. It's not just the visual change, it's so much more! I look different, sure, but I FEEL SO DIFFERENT as well!!
I'm looking forward to making progress in the months that follow and losing more weight and inches. I feel so confident that I can reach all my goals - weight related and otherwise - and I'm excited about this new life I have built for myself!
Here is a summary of my progress so far:
Waist: 33.5 inches (3.2 inches lost)
Hips: 42.1 inches (3.5 inches lost)
Bust: 42.1 inches (3.2 inches lost)
Thigh: 25.6 inches (2 inches lost)
Upper arm: 14.4 inches (1 inch lost)
Weight: 162 lbs (28 lbs lost)
This month, my goal was to fit into a skirt that was too tight a month ago when I tried it on, and I did!!! Here's proof!!!
Next month, my goal is to lose 8 pounds and hopefully lots of more inches! I'm continuing to learn about nutrition and I'm going to stay active every day, and keep working on the 5 K Your Way challenge. I can't wait to get out of the 160's and move onto new challenges!
