I think his story is so amazing and so very inspiring. No matter how many times we fall, nothing can break us as long as we get back up and keep on working hard towards our goals and dreams. WE CAN DO THIS! We can be all that we were meant to be if we make a pledge to never give up on ourselves no matter how hard things can sometimes get.

Lately, I feel like I'm slipping. I've been losing my momentum. I think it's got a lot to do with me getting sick and not tracking my food or being able to exercise for more than a week. I was too tired to do much of anything other than staying in bed, reading or watching TV (which made me feel miserable and lazy). Today I was able to take a walk for the first time in over a week, and it felt so good!! I also tracked everything I ate and as a part of my plan to get back on track and start working hard again, I even took pictures of what I ate at each meal to share with you guys. I thought it would keep me more accountable, and it did! I think I might actually do this for a while.
So here's what I ate today:
A small glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, a banana, a slice of freshly baked bread with turkey and red pepper, and some yogurt.
A turkey sub for lunch.
Chicken and oven-roasted vegetables (mushrooms, tomatoes, eggplant and zucchini) for dinner.
And half a cup of raspberries and some vanilla pudding for dessert.
Total calories: just a little under 1,500!!
I really want to get serious about putting my health first again now that the flu is finally gone! I lost some weight while I was sick and basically had no appetite whatsoever, and I really don't want to gain it all back. I'm now around 171 pounds and I'm hoping to get down to the 160's by my next weigh in a week from now. I WAS THERE already but then I weighed myself again today and now the scale said 171. All the more reason to stay focused! I definitely don't want to gain any weight.
So this is me, refocusing and regrouping! It's time to get real again!

Iím so excited! This is my very first before/after picture. Iím not exactly sure about my weight in the first picture, but I know I weighed at least 190 pounds for sure, maybe even a little more. In the second picture I weigh around 174 pounds, which means I weigh about 16 pounds less than in the first picture. I know itís not a lot of weight but just LOOK AT HOW DIFFERENT I LOOK! I remember that jacket barely fit me on the day that before picture was taken and I felt really uncomfortable and miserableÖ And in the after picture the jacket looks a lot looser! But thereís more to it than how my clothes fit. My expression is different. I look happier, more confident. I felt so different than on the day that before picture was taken.
Iím so proud of myself for doing this for myself. Looking at this picture gives me motivation and strength to keep on working hard every single day!

I know I've been MIA for a while, but I do have my reasons! First, after I got back from St. Petersburg I've been crazy busy with school, final exams and deadlines, and then, in the midst of all the craziness, I got the flu.
For the past four days I have been staying in bed with a high fever, a sore throat and a headache (and as of today, a stomach ache as well). I can't remember the last time I was this sick, probably back when I was a kid. Half of my class is sick though, so it's some kind of a nasty epidemic obviously. BUT ANYWAY, I am beginning to feel a little better and hopefully I'll be back on my feet soon enough.
I really wish I wasn't sick though! It's such a beautiful spring/summer weather outside! AND now my classes are officially over and I have a month without absolutely NOTHING to do before I start interning at a local hotel as a receptionist on May 28th. What better way to start a summer break than by being sick with the flu! I know I shouldn't complain, things could easily be so much worse. But it's so frustrating to have to stay in bed when everyone else is outside enjoying the beautiful day. (Everyone except Tommi, who's been staying with me all the time, pampering me and taking care of me like the amazing boyfriend that he is!).
Enough about the flu!
I haven't been tracking for a few days now but I haven't been eating a lot either. I feel too sick to eat so I've been just trying to drink tea with honey, mineral water and some fresh juices, and I've mainly been eating veggie soup and oatmeal. I did weigh myself on Friday which is my weigh-in day, and found out I had lost another 2 pounds - which means I am down to 172 pounds! I'm so excited. I can't wait to start wearing all my cute summer clothes again, even the ones that didn't really fit me last summer!
I feel bad for not reading your blogs and commenting back this week :( I do appreciate all your comments and encouragement and as soon as I get better, I promise to get back on track in all meanings of the word! :) I hope you've all had a great weekend and that you're all healthy! Thanks for your support, I love you guys.
