3 weeks and a 2 pound gain

Monday, March 07, 2011

So, the past three weeks have basically sucked on the scale. This morning showed a two pound gain from last week which is up 1 pound from two weeks ago. We also had our weigh in at work for our Biggest Loser contest and at least that did not show a gain (a bunch of others did though). I just do not get it. I have an average of a 1000 calorie deficit each day, do cardio 6 days a week, hard training sessions with a trainer 2X a week and a Jillian workout on the weekend and what do I have to show for it nothing. The pants are not even fitting better. It is getting so frustrating.

The bright side is that I finally got ahold of the main trainer at the gym and sent her all of my info from my BMF. She said that she will forward it on to my main trainer and he will work with me on it. In the mean time I am going to try and eat less and move more until a trainer tells me different.

I tried to look for a tape measure but I could not find it yet. That is going to be my goal this week. Find a tape measure and actually take them. Oh, and to try and sleep more.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day and a trainer day at that. I get the young, young, young enough to be my son trainer David tomorrow. See what he puts us through.

Have a great day

Better today

Sunday, February 27, 2011

So today I was down a pound from 2 weeks ago. Not bad, but not great. I am hoping I have some more water weight in the muscles cause I can still feel the workout I did on Thursday in the legs.

Great thing is I slept good last night. I was so tired yesterday.

Did my elliptical this morning and might do a Jillian DVD this afternoon.

Next week, bring on the trainer.

Have a great day.

Really, really......

So I worked my butt off last week, gained 3 pound the previous weigh in (TTOM). Got on the scale this morning and I only lost the 3 pounds that I gained last week. So frustrating. I am never going to reach my goal this way. I just don't get it. Went power shopping with my sister yesterday and saw so many cute clothes that I would have loved to get but did not because I am not going to spend the money if I don't want to stay this size. I did get a couple of things though.

Met with a personal trainer who kicked my butt. Did so many new exercises that I have never done before. Great thing is that I was/am sore but not dying. So all the strength training that I have been doing at home has helped. Need to wear my HRM next time since I am not sure if my BMF counted all of the calories that I burned.

Plans for next week --
I meet with the owner/personal trainer on Tuesday and hope that we can go through and develop a plan on what to eat, how to eat, when to eat. I am just missing something. For me it is not all about calories in versus calories out.
I am finally going to see the doctor and get some stuff figured out. Will be asking for a FULL thyroid workup. We will see how that turns out. Also need to get the foot and arm healed so I am thinking that there will be some physical therapy in the near future.

I'll just keep trying since I will NEVER go back to where I was.

Keep up the great work!!! emoticon

Glad to hear that you had a hard workout and that you feel it, but not dying since you have been working out previously. WOW!!! When I read this blog, I was thinking to myself, "Was this girl listening to what I had to say to my trainer???" emoticon You sound just like me!!!! I have done many exercises, but I know that my trainer is really working some areas that I didn't even know existed!! AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

This is us: emoticon emoticon

Just keep up the hard work and it will pay off.

OH! And the fact that you don't want to buy clothes at this size??? OMG!!! Are you also following me in the store and listening to my thoughts in my head??? emoticon I feel the same way!!!

I bet you are building muscle! Sometimes the scale can be stubborn, but there are lots of other ways to measure your success. Keep at it, and I hope the doctors are able to figure some stuff out. :)

I know it can be frustrating when the scales doesn't show the results I want and expect to see. It is at those times I check my other measurements, because often that is where the change is happening.

Keep up the good work and you will be rewarded.

Week that was and week to come.

Last week -

Good news - went for a run for the first time this year, in Feb, in WI. It was great- 50 degrees!!!

Bad news - Planter fasceitis acted up afterward and then the shin splints hit. Forgot about how bad those hurt.

Good news - Went to a local gym and walked out hiring a personal trainer. I have been gaining and losing 20-30 pounds for the past 5 years after losing 75 and it has to stop. What I know how to do is not working anymore. Hoping he can help. I also got a great deal on it. 10, 1 hour sessions for $149 or just under $15 an hour. A great deal!!

Kinda bad news - gained 1.2 pounds this week but TTOM is in the next day or two so I am sure it is due to that.

Bad news - we are expecting 6-14" on fricken SNOW tomorrow. I hate it when it snows on the weekends. DH works weekends so I snow blow on the weekends. It took be 5 hours and 2 days to get the driveway cleared after the last storm and I messed up my elbow and it is still not healed (seeing a Dr 3/2 for this).

Next week should be an interesting week, Seeing the trainer 2 days next week, start a Biggest Loser contest at work and take a day off to go shopping with my sister.

Have a great day everyone!!! emoticon
