GRRRRRR, stupid work.....

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

made me miss my training session. Oh. let's call the customer at 4 pm and by the way, we need some of the data analyzed right now, while we are talking with them. I was already tired from another customer visit (wished they could have taken me back to Sweden with them!!). I hate getting my routine messed with.

I was already physically and mentally drained so maybe it was a good thing. I was able to reschedule it for Thursday but with a different trainer. We will see how it goes. David is great but I can get him to ease up on me, Dan never did.

Good thing today, pants felt looser even though the scale did not show it. Upped the meds again and hope it start working.

Great thing today is that my new treadmill will be getting delivered on Saturday so guess what hubby is doing when he gets home from work :). It is coming just in time since this weekend weather is suppose to be cold and my 5 mile race is next Thursday.

You will love the empowerment of the treadmill. I, too, have a job that can squelch my precious exercise plans, and my treadmill has been the solution!

What kind you get?

Stupid Work!! But, girl, with all that you did over the weekend, maybe a little break from your exercise was exactly what your body needed.

Still, I agree, though ... STUPID WORK!
:)

Enjoy your new treadmill! My Sole F-63 has done nicely for years...despite my having a few set-up glitches, being the all-thumbs mechanical guy I'm NOT...lol!

Wooo sounds like hubby has a fun weekend planned. Enjoy the stress relief of your PT workout and have a great time at your 5mi. Remember... slow and steady, no crazy heart rate!

Productive day yesterday and a 10K

Sunday, November 13, 2011

I was a machine yesterday and I am paying for it today.

I should be getting my new treadmill this week so that required some rearranging in my basement home gym. We have a back closet that stuff just got thrown into and was not organized at all and had no real shelving. I love building stuff so last year I got a table saw for Christmas and have not really had time to use it. This weekend I decided that I was going to build the shelves and organize that closet and put the door on.

Sent daughter to respite, hubby was working so it was just me. Got off to a slow start since TOM arrived yesterday and I needed to wait until the drugs kicked in. Finally got going and I was a machine. I ripped stuff out and cut a lot of wood with my new saw and it was looking great. Needed to stop and let the drill recharged so since it was a beautiful fall day (a little windy) I decided to jog a 10K.

I figured I might as well see how well I could do it since my sister and I are doing a 5 mile run Thanksgiving day. I am never going to break any land speed records. I picked my route and chose the one with some killer hills (not that smart). I was aiming to keep the heart rate down and to jog as much as possible. My time was 1 hour and 28 minutes, like I said, no land speed records but the HR was the lowest I have had on a run at 165 and I jogged a good portion on it.

The bad thing about yesterday, I was not hungry AT ALL and way underate for all my activity. I am still not sure how to deal with this but that is another blog. I comment to my hubby when he came home that I had no idea where all of my energy came from especially since Aunt Flo was visiting. Now I know, it was taking today's energy.

I got my closet project done, everything back in it, the basement all cleaned up. I knew as soon as I would stop, it would hit me and when I crawled in bed, it hit. EVERYTHING HURT. When I get going, I do not stop and yesterday was that day. Took 2 muscle relaxants otherwise there was no way I was going to sleep. Even my forearm was throbbing (putting in screws).

The good thing was I slept like a rock, the bad thing, the pills seem to give me a hang over the next day (I rarely take them because of that). I managed to get a workout in today but just want to crawl back into bed but I need to run to town and get some groceries.

So, I have to get my list together and drag my booty into town then come home and try to make some more applesauce and some almond flour pumpkin bars/pumpkin cakes (VHALKYRIE's recipe).

Have a great rest of the day.

Wow - a closet project AND a 10K? That makes me tired just thinking about it! I can see why you needed a bit of a rest. Just go peek in your newly organized closet and I bet it will make you feel better!

Anxiety, Anxiety

Tuesday, November 01, 2011

I am such a creature of habit and today that was broken a bit. I see David my trainer every Tuesday. I change at work, go to the gym and then warm up for 10-15 minutes on the treadmill, no PT then another 20 on the treadmill.

Got out of work a bit late so some beginning treadmill time was going to be cut a bit short, no problem, will make it up after PT. Well, he did my warm up on the treadmill and said "let's see how much of an incline this can go to". 12, that's how high!!

Did my PT and was ready for a nice walk on the treadmill. AHHHHHHH no treadmill was open and no elliptical was open. GRRRRRRR what was I going to do. David suggested, well, maybe go home and give the body some REST. WHAT!!!! I can't do that, I have a routine. Treadmill, PT then treadmill. That is the way I have been doing it since March. Don't mess with the routine.

Well, I did not want to stand around so I packed up and left. I still burned over 750 calories for my hour workout and will not make my eating goal for the day but man, that was hard to walk out of the gym and not finish my workout.

On the good side, I have relaxed on weighing and tracking EVERYTHING. I still kind of keep track but I am not so anxious about not being able to weigh my food.

Oh, and the new kitty needed to go to the vet today, she was not sounding good. She was a bit sick when she showed up. Turns out she has pneumonia in one of her lungs. Poor kitty, she just looks like she does not feel good. The vet THINKS she is already fixed and thought he felt a scar. The only way to know for sure is to wait to see if she comes in heat again and he thinks she is about 2 already. Good news, not pregnant, no kitties!!! She picked a good house to stop at. She would have not survived if she was outside.

Have a great night.

    Hope kitty feels better.

Probably too late now, but I would have suggested a walk around the block (although I probably wouldn't have done that - it's too cold out).

I think over 700 calories is still a good day - although maybe the trainer could have been a little more creative in figuring out a way to finish to your satisfaction? But heck, nothing wrong with a little rest! Poor kitty hope she feels better soon!

Is there some reason you can't do your treadmill time out on the sidewalk?

Pics from 5K

Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Here are the links to the pics that the newspaper took of me and my niece at the 5K on Saturday.

The first one is the one that made the paper.

Just if you are wondering, my sister is from Korea and Jade's daddy is also asian. See the family resemblance? She looks just like me (haha)

Awe! She's such a cutie. That is a great picture of the 2 of you.

I've never jogged with a stroller - I'm sure it is quite a challenge, LOL.

Another 5K in the book

Saturday, October 29, 2011

That makes race 11 for the year. One more to go and boy was it cold out. 19 degrees when I woke up at 6am for this.

It was not my fastest race (41) BUT, it was my best one for HR (177 average) PLUS, I ran it pushing my 3 year old niece Jade in a baby jogger. That was different way to run. We also dressed up a bit. My sister and I were black cats and my niece was a bunny. There was the photographer from the local paper there as well and asked us our names so I am pretty sure we will make the paper.

This race just felt way different then my last one. I felt HORRIBLE my last race and could not get the heart rate down. This race, went a bit slower and the HR came down real nice afterwards. Maybe the meds are starting to work. I have also been feeling real sore lately and the scale was up 5 pounds this morning. Good thing I check both days of the weekend. I am hoping that the muscles are finally starting to take in the glucose so that the FAT will start to starve.

Have a great day.
