HAPPY NEW YEAR: 2014

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

I read this and thought I'd share it. Let us shine in His Glory!

Here are eight ways to view the coming year and every year as a year of:

1. New Beginnings

Start out the new year with a fresh point of view to new experiences, memories, and blessings, having an open mind and heart to wherever the Lord may take you, with full assurance and confidence that He is with you (Matt. 28:19-20).

2. New Possibilities

There is no limit to what God can do in your life; nothing is impossible with God. God opens doors that no man can shut and closes doors that no man can open. With God the possibilities are endless when we live according to His will (Phil. 4:13).

3. New Plans

Every year is a new season. Pray about what God has planned for you and be willing to walk by faith in obedience as you follow His leading. Remember that His plans are always for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jer. 29:11-13).

4. New Purpose

God always has a purpose for what you will experience. He has a reason for what He allows in your life, and through it you can trust Him completely (Prov. 1:3-5).

5. New Provisions

The Bible says not to worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough worries of its own. Trust in your Heavenly Father who knows everything you need, who is your God and your Provider. He is faithful and He will do it (Matt. 6:25-34).

6. New Growth

When we are willing to let go and let God work in and through us, He will always stretch us and grow us. Continue to grow in His Word and your relationship with Him. Pray for God to mold you and make you pliable in the Potterís hand. Then watch the Master Craftsman work on His masterpiece - you!

7. New Wisdom

With new experiences and lessons come new wisdom and insight. Make it a priority to seek out wisdom as a hidden treasure or fine gold. Proverbs says that wisdom will set a garland of grace on your head and she will present you with a crown of splendor (Prov. 4:7-9).

8. Renewed Peace

As you go through new experiences and new adventures, good or bad, I encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Christ. He will give you rest and peace because He is our peace and He loves you and cares for you deeply (John 16:33).

Let us give thanks to the Lord for getting us through another year as we look forward to what He has in store for us. He is faithful and worthy to be praised!

Wednesday Pawse - Day 21

Friday, June 28, 2013

Now is the time to step it up!

It seems I am working so hard to just maintain....and it's such a struggle.

Some strategy for the coming week: lower sodium, carbs and snacking. Up water, cardio and protein.

Let's Do This!

Wednesday Pawse - Day 14

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

I did it! I did everything I should. Mixed it up - ate plenty of fruit and veggies, lean protein, drank tons of water, logged 587 fitness minutes for the week.

And I lost 1/2 pound.

Something's got to give! I don't want to live the rest of my life at 180 pounds! At 5'8", I think 150 is a doable goal. Why can't I get past this?

What can I tweak? I will just keep on keeping on....One foot in front of the other.

And............YOU LOST A HALF A POUND!!!! You didn't gain! You didn't stay the same! You lost!!! Celebrate!! emoticon Embrace the losses, no matter how small!! Someone else said it here - look for other things that you can use IN ADDITION to tracking weight. Measurements? Measure the distance you run, and try to go further? Endurance? Increased strength from one week to the next? There are many additional ways to track progress, especially when totally frustrated with the scale! Find what ways will be motivating to you, and try to focus on those, in addition to the scale! It will come!!! Just keep plugging away!!! (((HUGS)))) We're behind you 100%!! :-)

You did everything you set out to do AND lost 1/2 a pound!!!! That means that you fueled your body well, got up and exercised so your heart and lungs and other body parts are working more efficiently, you had a GREAT week! The weight will come off in its own time; ignore that and look at all the great things you did for yourself and your body this week!!

You are making progress. A half pound loss is still a loss. You will get there. Keep at it. The work will pay off.

Me too! Oh you are having the same 'problem' I've had. I have not lost weight since I joined in September but have lost some inches and improved my general health. You have to remember there is no 'one-size-fits-all' diet plan that will make everyone lose weight. My body does NOT respond to calorie restriction but it does respond to strength training. I discovered this after 8 months here at SP. I've blogged about this topic quite a bit actually.

Don't give up. Your health is improving when you eat better and move more even if you can't see it on the scale. Try everything to find what works for you. Good luck!

Wednesday Pawse - Day 8

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

They say that anything you can do for 21 days becomes habit. My goal is to log 500 minutes a week of exercise and a daily CICO deficit of 800 a day.

I can do that.

Thanks to everyone for their support - cheering me on my journey.

We're in this together.

This is great, I was going to ask what CICO was, then I figured it out (Calories In, Calories Out).

800 is a stretch goal for most of us. I know you can do it. That's about 1.6 pounds a week. emoticon
