Husbands Birthday Dinner !

Friday, January 27, 2012

Hi everyone! K, so "the family" is taking the hubby out for dinner tonight! Uggggh! I already studied the menu, so my daughter and I decided to split a grilled chicken breast meal with all veggies and salad. The thing I hate the most about this is, everyone else at the table whines that you are not eating enough or some junk like that. I don't like it when other get jealous because they have no plan of attack for their weight issues, so they eat whatever they want and than focus the night on how you didn't eat the most fatten dish. REALLY! Common folks, wake up, right? I am proud that my daughter and I have a plan before we go and our excuse is that we had a big lunch. Believe me, we eat plenty of food, it's just healthier than others choose. I am proud to say I have taught my daughter a healthy lifestyle and she abides by it. You are what you eat. Although, we do get 1 cheat day a week to eat WHATEVER our sweet lil' hearts desire. Ummmmy, that's tomorrow. Sometimes you don't want the cheat day, because you have worked so hard to look good and I feel and look much better then ever. K, thanks for letting me blog and vent. Love to ALL! xoxoxox

Jealousy is an ugly thing, and the ones who are jealous don't usually even realize it themselves. *sigh* If you pointed it out then they'd just be jealous and mad at you too... *sigh again*

I've never understood peoples' proprietary attitudes about food anyway. My MIL used to take her adult children and spouses out to a nice dinner for a Christmas gift and they always rolled their eyes when I ordered seafood - because I LOVE it, and don't make it at home very often. The rest of the family, minus my husband, who is a surf-and-turf guy, were having their prime rib (which I view as just very good roast beef, which I happen to eat at home rather often) and gushing over how great it was, and rarely even asked how my "fish" was! They did this even at Red Lobster!! o.O

I like your positive attitude about teaching your daughter. You're not only teaching her good eating habits, but how to deal with peer pressure as well! Good job!

I think it is amazing how many people have an issue with someone else's eating habits. I think you both are smart for eating correctly! Something that might also help.... order the full meal, eat extremely slowly, moving the food around the plate several times, then ask for a doggie bag for the half you leave because you are sooooo full. That way they can't complain! After all you ordered a full meal just like everyone else, you just couldn't eat all of it!

Well, I hope you had a great night.

Yes, you win money, if you win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Wish me luck! emoticon

An Aha Moment in Starvation Mode!

Thursday, August 25, 2011

So I'm a little stressed out and I'm an emotional eater. I made a wonderful salad for lunch today when I made my husband a salad for dinner last night. I guess that was not enough! So, I was still emotionally starving or hungry! I call my little Wok place a few blocks away to order Shrimp Chop Suey! K, not bad and I even asked for it all steamed, no sauce with steamed rice. *patting myself on the back* When I get there it's not ready and Dairy Queen is next door. I venture into the DQ and look at their Low fat treats in boxes. Not too bad, some were as little as 90 calories per treat. Grabbed 2 boxes and went to the counter. The lady says, "that will be $6.99 per box." WOW, pricey! I put them down and head to Target, while my food is being steamed at the Wok place and grab 2 boxes of Breyers ice cream sandwiches. Low in calories and only $2.99 per box, 6 in each box. (I'm cheap) then I am thinking about the new clusters Skinny Cow has out, so I head to the candy isle. I pick up a tub of Swedish fish. Yummy! Good news and the AHA moment was when I realized that I could have a serving of each item as long as I practice my portion control. At that moment, I was soothed instantly and felt like I had overcome the emotional roller-coaster I was just about to get on. I had a little bit of each at work and plenty to still last me, for around 5 - 10 days, low cost and good tasting. I know fruit would be better, but there are times when you just have to have the chocolate or the sugar you know! At least I am calorie and fat counting! I told myself I have come a long way and that I did not need to undo what I have already accomplished so far by choosing the wrong foods to eat. I actually feel like I accomplished something within myself! THIS IS GOOD!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My trick for chocolate works awesome... take the double double chocolate jello pudding, fat free, sugar free (doesn't taste like it tho, it's really good), and make it up with skim milk, then freeze it... comes out just like rich choc ice cream and its totally guilt free with 40 cal and no fat. I actually felt guilty when eating it its so rich!

I still have items I bought from last week. Portion control and sharing with others helps! PMS and cravings. HOw do we beat those? I guess really in the end, it's mind of matter and you can win. emoticon

I guess it is al good, as long as you practise that portion control, kind of hard to do with all that in front of you. emoticon

17 Days left until the Total Body Makeover Contest Ends!

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Blog #2, 8/10/11 - 184 lbs.
17 days left and I want to win this thing! I have the eating thing under control. I have not been exercising enough and I still like my wind down drink after work. Hmmmmm..... it's crunch time I think. The contests have really helped me out a lot. When it gets close to the end, I always come through. Hoping to be down to 183 soon. Last time I did a challenge I lost 22 lbs. and some money. Darn, I had to buy new clothes too and that was a bummer (NOT)! The last one was 10 weeks. This one is 8 weeks, and I have not been diligent. Just think by the time Halloween rolls around I might actually be able to wear something cute and look good, but most importantly feel healthier and have more energy. Thanks for letting me ramble on. Have a great day! xoxoxo emoticon

K, I totally blew this contest. It was a combination of events, but mostly I think I made excuses not to go and to lose more weight to win. So the person that won, lost 8 lbs in 8 weeks and won $420.00. Out 7 people in the contest, only 4 people showed up to weigh in. Wow! Man oh man, was I upset with myself. I could have won if I had actually tried.

However, I am over it now. A new day is always a new start. I have learned that from SP, thank goodness. Otherwise, I would really be beating myself up for days, maybe even weeks or months.

A new DAY, a new CHANCE at ME!!!!! I have set some new goals, which I will start blogging and keep a tally on food logs and weight gained and lost. emoticon again, because I can! I am a SP and I do NOT give up! Happy Weds. P.S.: my husband doesn't even know that I did not go to the weigh in. He would be upset that I did not try, because he knows what I can do when I put my mind to it. Where was my mind. Not minding, how dare it. emoticon
