Why did I do it? I had scheduled to eat a Sara Lee Blueberry Bagel at 4pm, but I chomped it down at 11:30am. That's not even one of my regular eating times. I felt like I just needed something carby and slightly sweet. I think I haven't had enough water this morning. It's now 12:31pm, and I'm just finishing my third cup. That may affect my cravings. Hmm. Well, I'm ahsamed and embarrassed, but that may be a clue as to why I crave carbs so strongly sometimes. I think I had heard that somewhere before, but now, thanks to my nutrution tracker, I can see it at work. I'll continue to monitor my water intake to determine whether or not it's related to my cravings.

I've maintained for about 3 days now. Maybe it's time for me to stop weighing myself daily. And maybe it's time for me to start exercising regularly. I just got some editing software that I'm really excited about, so I've spent the last 3 days in front of the computer. I just haven't really given exercise much serious thought. I know it can do me some good. My goal is to lose 10 lbs. a month, and I'm only at 3 for this month. Barely. I need to readjust some things. Back to the drawing board...

I'm feeling pretty good this morning. I woke up at 6:15 rarin' and ready to go. I was down a pound and a half or so this morning, even though I didn't exercise yesterday. I went out last night and got ingredients for hummus. I probably made 5 lbs. worth -- enough to last us quite a while. I've got to find something better to have it with than flat bread. I don't think it will do me any favors.

I finally juiced all those green vegetables I bought -- Kale, lettuce, parsley, cilantro, Brocolli and ginger. Boy is that stuff disgusting! Blech! But I've got to find a way to get in all my vegetable servings each day. So until I get better about planning meals with vegetables, green juice it is. I chased it with a little Limeade. That cut the taste. A little.

I'm also going to try to do better about my fiber levels. I got Fiber One cereal, and put Fiber Sure in my water this morning. I really don't notice it! So maybe now I can just do that 3 times a day and that way I'll get all my fiber in for the day (for once). Hopefully the hummus will help me get my protien and good fat levels up consistently, and maybe I'll start to see some consistent weight loss.

I've become so aware of the scale. I never used to be that way. But I think it's good for me in a way. It causes me to be VERY conscious of everything I'm putting in my mouth. I can see what works and what doesn't pretty immediately. I'm really going to try and get consistent with my workouts. We'll see if the scale continues to trend in a downward direction.

I just looked at my Nutrition Tracker "Reports" page. I noticed a trend. My protien and fat levels have been under the recommended amount pretty much every day for the last 2 weeks. My fiber is always below what's recommended. I took a look at my menu for the first 3 weeks or so of the plan, and I ate a ton of hummus! Hummus. Could that be the key? It has both protien and good fat, and I ate it sometimes twice a day. I was losing consistently until I stopped. Maybe this means I can have my hot chocolate back! We'll see. I'll add hummus to my diet starting this evening, and I'll continue to abstain from hot chocolate. I'm going ot begin juicing as well so that I can get in all my vegetable servings (haven't been doing so well in that area either). I'm going to get this figured out yet! Stay tuned...

    I hear ya! I'm really good at filling up my calories with carbs... I've been trying to adjust what I eat to add in more protein and good fats as well! Maybe I should add some hummus back into my life, it's been a while!

Not so "Hot" Day

Okay, so I made it though my first hot chocolate-free day. Yay! Just barely, though. I've started to depend on it to give me that energy boost when I need it. I was .5 lb. lighter this morning. But I've seen that before. I want to see things continue to trend in that direction. I've done Jillian Michaels' 30-day Shred video a couple of times in the last few days. I know I feel better than I did just a week ago -- especially in my core. I know the scale shouldn't be the only measure of weight loss. One victory I can report is that today I'm wearing my black cordorouys (sp) for the first time in MONTHS! And they fit great! YaY! I love them. So I do have something to be grateful for. I'm considering getting monitored by my doctor every few months to see if she can give me any tips on how to avoid plateaus in the future. And to let her know that I DO know how to lose weight. Hmph!
