Friday at last

Friday, March 09, 2012

well, went to Physical therapy today, it is getting easier each time. But I still can't bend the knee @ a 90 degree angle. Guess there is more hard work ahead of me.
Kids are out of school all next for spring break. So they are probably hang around the house and drive me nuts.

You'll get that 90 degree in no time! Just keep doing those exercises. Yup, it does get easier and easier. It gets to the point that you wonder if they are doing any good at all! Sounds like you're doing great!

you have a good attitude for just having had surgery. I had shoulder surgery two years ago and it sure was a long road to recovery. But now I can do everything I used to do with my arm and shoulder.

a little step each day

Monday, March 05, 2012

every day is getting better and easier. I am staying on plan with my eating. I just wish I could exercise more.I have always been active, and now I still have to take it easy. My knee is improving and I am trying to do without the narcotics. Just taking them in the AM and PM and then some Benadryl to help me sleep. So far it's working. I will try and get some more walking done today. the weather is great and the temperatures in the 70s.
I just can't wait to go back to work. This just being @ home is driving me nuts. Maybe another 4 weeks and then we'll see how I am doing. emoticon

Look at you - you are doing great!! I had mine done during the summers when I was off from school so didn't have to (nor did I want to) get back to work!! I have no problem with taking the pain pills as needed....I knew I wouldn't move it as much if I didn't have them...and by the end of 6 weeks or so -- needed none or very little -- except for when I went to P/T 2x a week.
Great job!!!

busy days..

Thursday, March 01, 2012

had to get my grocery shopping done today. So we went to Wal mart and the little electric cart was on his last leg and was barely moving , then we went to Aldi and that cart wouldn't stop and was going so fast , it was scary. so much for my first electric shopping cart experience. I guess I will try again one day. but I got everything done and now I am good for a while. Even stopped @ the Fruit Stand and bought some fresh strawberries ,YUMMY.
Now I am resting getting ready to go to bed and read my book.

keep on going

Monday, February 27, 2012

haven't lost any weight lately, but the clothes are starting to get baggy. So soon it will be time for new clothes.
Tomorrow is my first day of physical therapy, better medicate before I go. My knee is getting better each day. It's getting easier to get in my bed too. I am just so bored, just being @ home. I am usually so busy, working and taking care of everything. Maybe I need to start knitting or crocheting.HA HA.
Just can't wait for the weather to get better , so we can go to the beach. But this last weekend , it rained cats and dogs here in Florida. I really miss Arizona with it's clear blue skies and mountain ranges. emoticon

My piece of advice is don't wait too long to get some clothes that fit. You will feel so good while you are recovering and enjoying your new mobility.

Glad you're getting around better. I agree -- pain meds before therapy is key. Why suffer? Baggy clothes -- OUTSTANDING!!! Keep up the good work.

one week post - op

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

One week ago I had my knee surgery. today I have more energy and walking pretty good. I want to walk in the Drive Way today. But I will have to wait until my husband gets home, just in case. Still having pain , but it is manageable. Had to take all my rugs and put them up, kept on sliding and tripping.
My husband is been great. He cooks healthy meals and takes care of the house.Just sometimes he he wants to help too much, lol.
To the doctor tomorrow and see what's going on.
Thank you all my friends for your support. emoticon

I hope you got your walk in when DH got home...the more you walk, the better you'll do. Don't forget those darn knee exercises! If you hurt, take a pain pill...that's what they are for. You heal better and faster if you aren't in pain! Sounds like you are doing great!

Bet you're glad the surgery is over and you're on the road to recovery. Glad you moved the rugs -- they can be dangerous. Take it easy -- hope the walk in the driveway went well!!
