pain, pain go away.....

A lot of pain in the old knee today. Guess I worked it a little too hard today, exercised with my Wii fit today. I just love that exercise program. Just hoping it gets better. I won't give up. Got to tone up.
Made a lot of friends on this site. I really enjoy reading all the blogs and all the encouraging words. It really makes me feel good, that so much people care about me and all the other people here. Thank you all so much for your love. emoticon emoticon

    I know how important exercising is ibefore surgery -- the stronger you are going in -- the easier time you'll have after. But remember -- moderation -- don't overdue a good thing!!

    Glad you are exercising but don't kill yourself. Slow down and give the knee time to heal!!! emoticon Remember you don't want it to be worse for the surgery!! Good luck!!

surgery date is inching forward

well the date for my surgery is getting closer and closer. February 15th is the big day. I don't know how to feel about it. I have assisted with so many Knee Replacements while I worked in the OR . I know what's all involved, but I still worry. I just hoping and praying that everything will go good and that I will recover soon.
So this week ,I am getting ready, mentally and physically for the surgery. Making sure everything is taken care of, from the animals to the kids. Trying to stock the fridge and freezer with some good wholesome food for the family.

    I'm sure everything will go fine. Very important to do all the therapy after surgery. Had my first TKR about 22 months ago and everything went great. No problem bending or extending knee. Cousin had hers replaced too but thought therapy was too hard so kinda gave up. She still has problems bending it. My surgery is scheduled for the 13th and must say really looking forward to it. Have been working hard on recumbent bike and daily knee exercises to get ready.

    Wishing you well on your upcoming knee replacement. Take your pills and exercise as much as you can before your operation to strengthen your quads. PT will play a major role in your recovery. I had my knee replaced one year ago and it was the best thing I've done for me. Will be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way.

    BELIEVE . . . Visualize how you want it to go. You have seen so much and know how the good ones go. emoticon That's what I did for my hip surgery and all went much better than I expected.

    We posted on the Knee/hip replacement about 3 people on the team who are having surgery this MONTH! You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. I know your surgery will go fine - you just know too much!!! Good for you for stocking that fridge and freezer with wholesome food for ALL of you!!

sitting here watching the "big" game, kids wanted pizza and hot wings for today. so they had a pretty good feast. I stayed with some Hot Wings and celery sticks. Feeling pretty good about myself and the way things are going. Drinking about 10 glasses of water per day. Treated myself to a Diet Pepsi Max 44oz fountain drink. boy was that good. trying to get some walking done this week. but still have to take it easy, maybe walk with a walker(what an old lady I have become). Surgery will be on February 15th, I just hope that it will improve my knee and that I can walk and run again.

going strong

it has been 9 days since I joined Spark People and I lost 5 lbs so far. It is much easier to keep up with my foods than I thought. Even my husband started using Spark People. I just wish I could exercise more,but it will have to wait until after my surgery on the 15th. It is very hard for me to not move that much. Being a nurse means moving all the time and now I am laid up, it is driving me crazy. But I do a little yoga every day.
