So day 6 and what do I notice other than a flatter belly and not feeling bloated? I have TONS more energy mentally and physically! Most of you who have read my stuff know that I am certified in nutrition. Paleo goes against all that I am certified in to counsel my clients, but I the way grain is grown now versus back when the Egyptians introduced grains into modern diet, it's not the same grain at all!
Back in 1970, a scientist created a grain that took less to process when ready in the fields, it was shorter, and drought resistant. Grain from DAYS LONG AGO carried none of the characteristics of today's wheat. Yes our ancestors ate wheat, but Paleolitic times did not. They ate meat, greens, fruit and nuts...what they had readily available. If you have any interest in Paleo, start reading the book WHEAT BELLY. This doctor discusses paleo and wheat in detail as well as the effects modern day wheat has on our body. It might just make you begin to LISTEN to YOUR OWN body when you do eat wheat products.
My meals for yesterday:
Meal 1: Mexican eggs: 1 whole egg, 2 whites scrambled with tomato, onion. I added jalapenos and avocado and 2 slices canadian bacon
Meal 2: chicken salad on top of a whole sliced tomato
Meal 3: CE Chicken and Kale soup..without any cheese
Meal 4: Cashews...soccer night for my little one so snack had to travel well in the car.
Exercise: Chest and back supersets, abs, and pullups
For those messaging me, Dad is still in the hospital. They have readjusted his drugs to try and level his heart and want to monitor him a few days...HURRAAAAY! He seems to be in fairly good spirits. I will head up there in a bit to visit with him and see if he has been following doctor's orders. He has a tendency to do exactly opposite of what the doctor says...hence why we are in the predicament we are currently in!
Before I sign off, thought I would offer up a stat I read yesterday: If you eat healthy all week long just to lose it all over the weekend, those weekend long cheats can result in a weight gain of 9 pounds over a one year period! Told DH we are only going out to eat once a month from here on out!!!!!!!!!
