Why Do Men Lose So Much Faster?!?!

Friday, July 29, 2011

Hubby is down another 5 lbs this week for a total of 17 lbs lost in 27 days!! His blood sugar actually got too low for the first time today in the 2 years since he was diagnosed with Diabetes. He ate a piece of fruit to bring it back up. Although I am so happy for him, I am bummed that my no weight loss continues to day 17. Can I call this a plateau yet? Or is my body still adjusting?

He also took the scale away from me today while I was at work so I would stop obsessing. When I was losing, I would only get on every couple of days, then when I stopped, I got on the darn thing 3 or 4 times a day thinking magically the numbers would change and all would be right again in the world.

A special shout out to MOMOFJTEAM who recommended Culturelle for my constipation program and it did indeed "work like a charm". Thank you SO MUCH!!!

Gabby, I am on C2D10 and the scale has not moved since C1D10, 17 days ago. I lost 15lbs in the first 10 days but I think it was really just fluid (cuz I do retain fluid alot, and even take meds, but its not enough). I am also having issues with being hypothyroid and my doctor said its just gonna be harder for me to lose weight going forward. Just needed to vent somewhere about hubby weight loss cuz I really am so happy for him!!

Dahndee, 5-25 lbs in the colon huh? WOW!!! I wish I could say I was storing 25 lbs!!! Thanks for the suggestion of water, I have always drunk drink of water a day, as thats all I drink.

I am actually beginning to think its the Kefir and Yogurt. Those are the only items I was NOT eating before as I was never a big milk/yogurt person.

It DOES suck! Men lose so much faster because they carry more muscle then we do, that is why it's important for all us women to workout with weight as well as cardio.

I have a book on different detox's and it said that people can carry anywhere from 5-25 pounds of hardened waste in our colon. Make sure your water intake is sufficient too!

I know, it's sickening isn't it? My DH isn't even trying to diet and his pants are starting to fall down because he's eating what I fix for myself as well as his snacks. It really isn't fair.
What do you mean by no weight loss to day 17? How much weight have you lost and what cycle/day are you on?

My First Ever Blog Post

Thursday, July 28, 2011

I have been encouraged and inspired reading other team member blogs, so I thought I should maybe put down a few thoughts of my own.

Today is C2D9 (Carbs)!!!! I am loving C2 so far, I havent seen the scale move yet, but I love the alternating of days. I had tremendous success in C1 (15 lbs) so I am hoping that my body is just playing catch up.

I went to a baseball game last night and didnt cheat at all. The only time I had a small inkling of cheating was when the vendor came by with popcorn. It really smelled heavenly. I'm sure it was loaded with salt and butter, afterall, how else do you eat it? I dont think this is a food I will be able to eat even when its allowed, because I cant stop once I start. Same with sugary candy ( jellybeans, bullseyes)! These are triggers for me!!!

Hey, good for you for passing on the popcorn! I went to a movie yesterday and everybody around me had buckets of heavenly movie popcorn. I resisted, but I'd be lying if I were to say it didn't take a bit of visualizing my skinny self to keep my self-control! LOL

Ooooh popcorn! I know that I may be almost 60, but I'm a Harry Potter fan and I want to see the last one for my birthday in August. I've been thinking about avoiding it, because of the temptation of movie theatre popcorn. That's not a way to live however - enjoy a life that doesn't revolve around food!!

Ok I'm done ranting. What's really satisfying is the natural low fat microwave popcorn (or better yet airpopped) with FF american cheese melted on top. I put it on a plate after it's popped and put the cheese on top and back in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the cheese. It will satisfy your cravings. Did you know that it's the salt and butter that stimulate hunger? Yup - salt, fat and sugar (and articficial sweeteners), are the main culprits. Read "The End Of Overeating" by David Kessler and you'll really get ticked off about the food industry. emoticon emoticon

P.S.Good 1st blog - keep them coming!

Far out! Terrific success, I can see nothing but tremendous results for you with a great attitude like yours. I hear you with the food triggers, I stay completely away from mine. Keep us posted on your journey, it's more fun with lots of friends along the way emoticon

It's good to know your triggers so you can control them rather than have them control you. I am the same with movie theatre popcorn. I used to 'need' it when i went to a I drool a bit internally, and then move on with watching the movie without popcorn. It's still pretty good!
