Whoo Hoo 1 one week clean of fast food!!

I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but when you go from eating out at least once a day, sometimes 3 times a day , this is a great start!!! My husband and I went grocery shopping and spent almost $300. I had no excuse to buy anything so I made a lunch every day. Even when I got off of work I kept telling myself I could do this. I would last past all of the restaurants and keep it moving. I also had to train my daughter because she was use to us stopping. After the first few days she stopped crying for it. Whhooo Hooo, I can do this.


My new goal for the week is to make sure I drink my 8 glasses of water EVERY DAY!!!!


BTW My watch me shrink challenge will be posted every two weeks. I think that will give me time to see if there is a difference so I don't get discouraged.

    i understand that , gosh where i live in my town there are soo many places to eat its noy even funny we have a lot of fast food places too and yet only 2 subways

ive had to train my self to eat at home drive past fast food and avoid vending machines work i. progress.

We use to eat out ALL the time fast and sit down. Had some job changes that required us to make some changes. Now I'm not even interested in french fries from fast food. However, I do like home made sweet potato fries now. It's fun to look back and see changes.

You can do this! Like LILSHINE said it will be important to make a list of places you find acceptable for those moments of urgency etc. Some places we use are Chic-fil-A grilled chicken items and Subway.

    Quitting Fast Food is one of the hardest things in making changes. Congrats on a successful first week. One thing I want to suggest to you is find a few places you can go in case you find yourself in a bind. Fast Food places that you can make wise healthy choices. This worked for me before and I do plan to do the same thing this time. Plus I just got a postcard about a new healthy burger place that opened. So it's best to be prepared with choices before you find yourself stuck and disappointed. Otherwise, keep up the awesome work, you're doing great!!!

    Good job! I know how hard it is to go from being a fast food junky to no fast food...I moved to Germany a few months ago and the area I live in has not got much fast food handy at all really. So I, like yourself, have gone from eating fast food 1-3 times daily to eating none at all...I've been fast food free for 3 months. emoticon

I have as one of my goals for tracking: eat all meals at home. I don't get this one very often.

Making strides!!!

Although I know its going to take time to get the weight off, I am making strides!! I am excited about taking my pics for tomorrow. Although I know there isn't change now, there will be!!!

I have gone this whole week ( since mon) with no fast food. Yaahh This is good for me because after a couple of days I usually crack. I even got up and cooked my lunch for today!!!

Your right Michelle, I am learning this. I have packed my lunch all week and I have stayed away from the vending machine and the late trips for food when I get off!!

Watch Me Shrink Pic Challenge: Day 1

Thank you APIRLRAIN888 for starting this challenge!!!

I knew I needed accountability so I wanted to join this challenge. I am a type 1 diabetic and I need to get it together. If I have to pot a pic every week, I have to be held accountable!!!

As of today I am 5 ft tall and I weigh 234 lbs!! Wow, how embarrassing!! In order for me to get it together, I had to be honest with myself. Although i'm quite embarrassed by these pics, I know the will look different as the weeks go by!!

What is wrong with 327...????

Well a lot is wrong when it is your morning BS!!! I am trying to get back on track, no wait, I am getting back on track so I started back taking my meds for my diabetes ( I know I shouldn't have stopped, slap me when you see me), I tested my BS this morning and it was 327. I thought about all of the other days it must have been this high and I was upset with myself. Even though I took all of my meds, I know where I went wrong. Hmmmm... Fried catfish and fried okra for dinner, which was late!! I am doing better, just had to tell on myself because I deserve al the tongue lashings I get!! emoticon


BTW Day 3. no carbonation and I have taken all off my meds the last two days. emoticon

    OMG. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR SELF. I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. MY PROBLEM IS THAT MY B.S. GETS LOW AND IT'S SO HARD TO GET BACK UP TO A REASONABLE NUMBER SO I CAN FUNCTION NORMALLY.
I DON'T LIKE THE MEDS. EITHER BUT THEY DO HELP.

I think I can really kick this!! It has been two days since I had anything carbonated. I jumped back on the wagon, but I am not trying to overwhelm myself. I can do this with positive thoughts and energy!!! emoticon

    I saw is in my news feed and I have to agree with Aped. I used to be highly addicted to soda and drank it everyday for 15 years. But i recently cut it out and I feel amazing. I don't even crave it anymore. But it is the best thing you could do I eat a diet of 1200 calories and cut out the soda and it's going well. Good luck!!

    Getting rid of soda was the best thing I did! I don't crave it anymore like I used to and when I have a sip of my husbands it sort of hurts my mouth. Good Luck! Sending postive thoughts :)
