Ever feel like dancing???

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Well I did today and I did just that!!! I turned on my music and just danced all around. My daughter thought I had lost my mind. Well she should know by now I am not playing with a full deck!! I even broke a sweat. Today is just one of my days I am just in a good mood. I may not have a lot, but I have my life. I made a promise to God that I will begin to take better care of what he has given me.

I know when I lay down and wake up I will pay for all of this fun, but it will be worth it. I am going to try and see if my daughter wants to dance some more! She is a goof ball like me so she may join in this time. Have a Sparalicious day everyone!!!! emoticon

*disclaimer* Try this at home, it makes you feel real good and you burn calories. I will not be held responsible for any aches and pains that occur.

Good for you!!! I play music every day and get up and dance. It's a great way to clean the house, cook, or just hang out on the computer with music playing.

I dance all the time because it feels good and it's a fun way to improve health. I take Zumba lessons. My husband and I take dance lessons and go to dance parties. I turn the stereo up and dance while doing housework. I've been doing it so long my legs are strong and my backside stays lifted. There is no downside to dancing.

How they could make going to the Drs fun!!!!!

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I think they should make going to the drs (especially our lovely female exams) like going to a amusement park. They should should give you prizes for being on time, and when you loose weight should be able to pick a cool sticker, and the ultimate is if your test results come back good, they slide a secret door open and you get a stuffed animal. I would love to go then!!!!!

Ok, so I got my results back. As may of you may know I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. That was my wake up call. I have had a Mountain Dew since 12/21/09. I use to drink 2-3 a day!!! I had some good news, my bad cholesterol(should be around 100 at the higest) mines was 88, whoHoo. My good cholesterol I think should be around 34 or 40 , was 31. Your triglycerides should be no higher than 150, mines were 114. My Dr was actually surprised they were so good. Hell so was I!! Now the bad news, you know they always some. My A1C was 10. I was told a person without diabetes is around 4-6. SHe wants mines no higher than 7. She told my my average BS levels were around 269. They have gone wayyy down averaging around 165. I am getting better.

I have been pretty good, but I have fast food calling me sometimes!!! I tell them I can't hear them and I am not listening, but sometimes they run and jump in my hands anyway. We are learning that our relationship is toxic so when we can hang out that much anymore, only sometimes. They took it a little hard, but I think they understand!!! emoticon

I love the amusement park idea! My mother calls the gyn visit "Time to get the soup stirred." A little graphic, but very accurately descriptive! One of these days we'll figure out a way to have men experience some of the things we experience and you better believe that the very next day would have a plethora of less demeaning solutions! Keep us updated on the levels, we're with you!

Well it sounds like you are on your way to getting all your levels within range. Just keeping working at it, it will get easier & easier.

I know the A1C actually calculates on the past 3 months so if you continue your next one should be much better. It probably just hasn't registered the changes in you've made yet. Great on all the other results. emoticon
I am due for an annual physical next month and am actually looking forward to it for the first time in my life because I've lost 50 lbs since my last bloodwork, changed my eating, and am working out. I really want to know how the changes show up!

Congratulations on getting the BS readings heading in the right direction. emoticon

I think going to the doctor could be more fun and profitable if they had to pay us $1 for every minute past our appointment time they keep us waiting. Heck one visit could pay for itself at that rate!

sounds like it's going good for you!! Glad u're taking care of those numbers, Im sure you'll get down to the levels you need. :)
In my family diebetis comes strong and Im sure getting news like that of having it is not pretty, I've been mentally getting prepared for it lol, its great ure taking care of it now!

About docs apptmnts being more interactive even fun .. I agree!! U enter there with a lack-of-hope face and usually get out with a Im-riding-my-blues-bad-not-dare-tal
king-to-me-or-ill-bite-you face in the end too.. not fair!
I want spa cupons, diet coke or something good, you name it.. to take with you!! i mighty suggest something to my Psicologist actually.. :p

Wow, God sent me a wonderful man!!!! I am not one who asks for much, so when I seen my Christmas presents I was so excited. He told me he got me the boots and coat because I needed them, and the diamond tennis bracelet was because I said I never had one. I am the most lucky woman in the world!!

Ummmm, ok, really!!!!

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Ok, I was told about the side effects before starting this new medicine, but I didn't think it would be this bad!!!! Couldn't they make tissue out of something even softer????? I know by the time I go back to the drs I will have lost weight because I stay in the bathroom!!! The good thing out of all of this is that my levels are dropping. I have seen my lowest ever at 145 today. I am still waking up with high levels, today was 185, but at least I know why. I worked 13 1/2 hours yesterday so when I got off I was so hungry I was shaking. I was getting so bad I couldn't wait to get home so I stopped at Taco Bell( I know , worse thing to eat when you have an upset tummy) and I ate and went right to sleep. I knew it would be high this morning.

I have been so busy I forgot to ask, how was everyone's Christmas?? Did Santa bring you everything on your list?? emoticon

Ummm TGIRidays sounds good. I think they have a healthy menu. They told me the side effects may go away after a week or so. My fingers are crossed! I am going to start packing my food at night, when you rush you forget everything!

Just talk with your dr to make them adjust the meds. I know you backslide but I was eating TGIFriday's hot wings & fries with my hubby & boys. They eat so many that it leaves me about 3wings & 11 fries which is a normal portion. LOL Plus I was tired of ham?! YIKES!LOL

Blessings & Christmas was really good!

You are doing a great job...sorry to hear about the backsliding to Taco Bell, but understandable. Now you need to learn to pack yourself good sancks to avoid the splurge.
Good job friend!

Was I really surprised???

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Nope not at all!! I seen it coming and I should have done something a long time ago, but hey the past is in the past. This is a new beginning for me!!!!

I have type 2 diabetes and she put me on metaform(sorry about the spelling, I haven't picked it up from the pharmacy yet) I have to take 500mg twice a day. I also have to go to see a nurse and a dietician. Wow, this will be fun!!!! Can it get any more exciting!!!!!! (I wish you could see the joy in my face) SHe told me a lot of the things everyone has told me here. I just have to put everything into action now. (hey doesn't that make me sound like a super hero, ok maybe not). I can't believe everything is so expensive and my insurance cover coverage is horrible. Hmmm maybe I need to push my wedding date up so I can get better insurance hehe jk

*disclaimer* In no way do I take this as a joke, have to laugh to keep from feeling sad. I hope my silliness helps someone else feel better emoticon

I admire your determination and goal settings! Admitting that you are scared and covering it with humor, is admirable and nice to see that you are able to seek out the goodness in such a serious situation!

@DOINGME10 I didn't Blog about it because I just started back on SP. He proposed on Thanksgiving. We are looking at June 2011. And as for you, you better get your booty to the Drs. I was the same way, had I waited any longer I may have done more damage.

@ VIRTOPIA, you are correct, this has scared me into reality!! I bought my first diet pop today. ( I haven't drank it, but I will be brave and try it tomorrow)

@ RTBTMAY , now that I know, I can change my daily habits to make me stay around a lot longer.
