#1) Logging in my nutrition and exercise on time! Those weeks where I kept track and didn't wait 2-3 days to "catch up" proved to be the best weight-loss weeks for me!

#2) Pull up my first ever sweet potatoes before the frost----healthy pies and souffles, here I come!

Thanks for the reminder emoticon emoticon

Getting back on a fit track & oh yeah I have to finish cleaning too!

Getting back on a fit track & oh yeah I have to finish cleaning too!

Okay, so HOW do you get yourself back on track when you had a hard time staying on to begin with? How do I go from the thoughts in my head of living, eating and working healthier to actually doing it more regularly?

Hmmmmmmmmm I feel like it's a new week to do more workouts and eat healthier, and then I also have my entire house to empty out for remodel work happening in 2 weeks... emoticon Okay, well, it'll all come together I has to, soon...real soon!

But you know me, I'm positive and also accept suggestions and positive encouragement and inspiration too!

Hello Sis! What I did to get back on track was pray and let God know that I Really Need His Help. I can't do this alone. I fail when I try too. Let it Go and don't take it back because it can become a "care" That we must cast on Him. One day at a time and one step at a time. I'm seeing progress and I have like 35 more pounds to lose from start @ 88. God is SO AMAZING. You'll get it done when it gets done. Just know that YOU ARE ALREADY A WINNER KEEP SEEING THAT NEW YOU INSIDE AND OUT!
Love you and Thanks for all you do!
Many Blessings!

Bye Bye 200's By Summer's End!

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

WOW it's been quite some time since I last wrote.
Many things have been happening in my life. But I'll just comment on my weight loss...lbs and food and exercise. So here's the summary:

So I've lost and gained. Never reaching my highest of 227 again, but never getting below 200 lbs.
I'm stronger, I've been able to lift more, endure longer hours and walk a lot further than I had in such a long time.
And today I say emoticon to not losing the pounds. emoticon to the 200's we've been together too long!
emoticon 100's again. I really pray that by summer's end I WILL SEE the 100's again! Hey I'll be happy with being 199 for longer than a day!
So hopefully I will be able to have success. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Oh and my Oncologist is tweeking some of my meds so hopefully this will help too.

Okie-dokie, follow God's lead! All the best to everyone!

Read SCOTT RIGDEN, M.D.'s "The Ultimate Metabolism Diet" (I got a copy at the library. It explains being over 40 and having Insulin Resistance/Metabolic Syndrome. When we eat, our pancreas pumps out TOO MUCH insulin (unlike Diabetes) and so we STORE as fat the food that comes in and then our brain thinks we haven't eaten so it tells the stomach to pump out LEPTIN the hunger hormone. So, it is no wonder we are always hungry even though we want to lose. His book explains a lot.

Just thought of a weight loss reward, Custom Jeans...think I'll make a list now! ;o)

Friday, May 13, 2011

Hey all,

So I'm browsing youtube and came across someone talking about the custom jeans they just got in the mail from India. Well, I went to the website, and yes! I think I might want to order some...when I lose some weight!

I once bought a pair of Brazilian jeans (with one leg painted with pictures of flowers and a lady bug), I weighed about 130-135 pounds at that time. I have since lost these pants (I told my niece I'd give them to her when she became a teen, now she's an adult) LOL They've been missing THAT LONG! Anyways, they cost me well OVER $100 bucks, so when I saw that that these were custom and cheaper UNDER $100 (like $50+)!!!!! Well, I began to think that I'd like to design some jeans of my own, when I lose some weight! And then I'll paint my own picture on one of the legs!

Okay, sooooooo, how about going from 207 pounds to about 170 lbs...hmmmm yeah, maybe somewhere around 170 or 160 lol Guess I need to think about the rewards thing a lil more! LOL
But hey, I think I'm a lil closer to having one of those charts like my fellow SparkFriends, ie.

Get to 197 lbs.......Get a SparkGoodie, from me!!!
Get to 187 lbs.......Get a Glen Ivy Day & Club Mud fun.
Get to 177 lbs.......Get package at BurkeWilliams.
Get to 167 lbs.......Get Custom Jeans :o)
Get to 157 lbs.......Get a bunny.
Get to 147 lbs.......Get
Get to 137 lbs.......Get myself to Sea World, San Deigo!
(updated May 15, 2011)

Well, check this blog out again and see if I've added other rewards for reaching the pounds. And yes, I know that it's good to have rewards for meeting other goals as well, like exercise ones, cleaning ones, eating ones, etc.

So what type of rewards did/do you make (or want to make)?

That's a great idea. I think I'm going to start that. I like the idea of painting or decorating my own jeans. That's a great idea too. My daughter is an artist but she's not using it. I'm going to put her to work in a couple of months. lol. Thanks for always coming up with some great ideas. I never wore jeans until 2006 or later. lol Didn't like the way all that weight looked in them. But now I love to wear jeans. Praise the Lord!
Blessings to You Leader!

I really enjoyed your rewards list. I have one that I just started... it includes massages, pedicures, hair color/highlight, a watch, a necklace... but I really like the idea of custom jeans. Of course, I used to have food as rewards, but that's not such a great idea for me lol. I really like your idea of having them documented and associated with actual weight goals, so they aren't random. emoticon

Hey I don't think we could ever have too many rewards!!! LOL

Let me know what you think of the site and if you do design your own jeans let me know how they fit!

WOW! I'm STRUGGLING to find jeans that fit me and 100 bucks is WELL worth it. I wear jeans all the time. I'm so sick of the tight in the hips, big in the waist fit. UGH!
GOOD REWARD. I may have to look into this!

I don't have any rewards set in stone. When I'm out I'll grab something and think..well this is for losing weight. HA. Maybe I should be a little more specific. I may have given myself too many rewards :-)

OOooooooo you have some really good ones!

The website is :o)

Let me know how the Hot Yoga turns out! And I really like your high heels one, mostly because you'll be able to wear them comfortably!

And I'll definately post when I figure it all out!

I like that idea! As you lose, you'll start being confident in your clothes, so why not a new fashion forward piece? I like it. What's the website? I'm kind of curious myself...

My rewards are a spa day, a makeup session, starting hot yoga, new heels (since I was getting too heavy to wear them comfortably) and then pulling out old wardrobe pieces I sadly never got to wear because I gained so much weight so quickly. That last bit will put me with a whole new wardrobe for my weight loss which I'm excited about.
Lmk what you decide!

Well, my streak is over! After 2 weeks! YAY I did 2 WEEKS!!!

Sunday, May 01, 2011

Well, my streak is over! After 2 weeks! YAY I did 2 WEEKS!!! One step at a time!!!

Saturday, yesterday, would have been the start of Day 15 and week 3. However, I only did about 7 minutes worth of exercise, so I didn't make the 10 minute mark.

That's okay though, as I'm EXTREMELY thrilled that I even made it 2 days, 5 days, 1 week to 2 full weeks of moving my body! Awesome stuff for me to just get my body moving in some way!

Today is the start of the Spark to Summer Bootcamp (or something like that LOL). I did Day 1 last week & got through it okay, so I think I should be okay to do it on the actual start day, which is today!

So thanks to my SparkFriends for your support. Praise God for the strength to have gotten this far! And YAY ME!!!!!
emoticonYAAAAAY MEEEEEE!!!!!
