Thanksgiving 2010 Mini Goal

So Thanksgiving will be here in 3 weeks and I hope to weigh at least 199lbs
Yes, I'd be REAL thankful for that! lol
At this time I'm about 203-205 and can't seem to see 200 on my scale.

So, I hope that I can get down the pounds. So what do I plan to do to help out?
I plan on WALKING and moving everyday! Let's see how that works.

And as tired as I am right now, I will walk to church for the evening Anual Mission Service. I have 17 minutes before it begins. BOY I'm so sleepy. Okay Lord, give my strength!

I'll keep you all updated.

    November is a good month. This Friday is my 43 birthday and my goal this month is to learn to enjoy the holidays seperate from food. Most holidays, birthdays and such all rely on eating and I want to learn to enjoy the people, the day and activities. Also, I seem to struggle the last few months up 5 down 5. As soon as I lose the 5 and get towards my new goal I sabotage myself. So I plan to get down 10 over the month and get past this place in my head.

Okay I'm Just Thinking of My Fall Workout Schedule... it's hard to stick to a schedule, so without one I'm really lost. So this is a brainstorming blog of sorts!

CBARRETT10, Thanks for the Cheering! I'm going to need to see your post to help me as I try to complete the plan. LOL

I look forward to starting the week after Labor Day! So that's Monday the 13th of September.

I did start going to the Wed. night Church aerobics...I'm working my way to a full 45 minutes! I can do the Monday art class, but I'm on the waiting list for the Tues. sculpture & Sat. Bonsai classes.

I'm VERY excited! And trying to work out this healthier eating balance! lol One step at a time, one step at a time!

Getting Ready To Attend Orientation: local Cancer Center Annual Walk/Run Training Program

I'm sooo excited! In about an hour I'll be sitting in an orientation for our local Cancer Center Walk/Run 6 Week Exercise program! It's every Tuesday evening with Personal Trainers & held outside along the route 5K (3.1 mi.) run or walk 10K (6.2 mi.) run. It should be great, as I'm told that people are on so many levels! "First-time exercisers, those seeking to get back in shape, cancer patients and survivors, more experienced athletes, and past event participants all welcome!"

I don't know if I'll do the actual walk in Oct. but My goal is to complete the exercise program!
I'll let you all know how things turn out! I think I'll train as though I'd do the 5K Walk. "Program includes weekly workouts on the course, support and coaching from trainers, and group camaraderie. "

Okay, time to get ready to go!

    emoticonI believe you can do it Roz. Take your time. Find a buddy to join in. What about your manfriend. I feel like you now...having to move slow. God bless you and He gives you the strength you need so ask Him if you should do the actual walk. There may be someone there for you to share His Love too.

Sounds like fun...jacuzzi. Never been in one. Many blessings for success sent your way.

    Okay the orientation was nice. Only about stayed at the gym and did 30 minutes of Cardio/Resistence Training on the NuStep! Burned over 100 Cal. Did 3025 Steps!

Felt good! Then I spent 20-30 minutes in the Jacuzzi!!!!! :o)

It'd been a LONG time since I'd been in that gym. They've changed some things around, & it was nice being there again. But I like the Y and the friendly environment!

Hey there!! I'm thinking of Designing my own Beginners Bootcamp! Any suggestions?

It seems as though most of the bootcamps out there are packed with an excessive amount of work that I just can't successfully complete! Too packed, too demanding. And yes I know that's the purpose!

But why shouldn't those that may struggle a bit more and have a harder time at the commitment of health, because of HEALTH SETBACKS (our bodies are not up to par)...Why not have something a little different!?

So I think I'd like to put together a "Bootcamp to a Healthier Me for a True Beginner"!
I'd like to be about 15 pounds lighter by Thanksgiving & dare I say 20 lbs down by Christmas???!!!

So...any suggestions on how I can pull it together? What would you include if you could design your own bootcamp?

    I've seen chair exercises. Dancing is great too because anyone can dance at their own pace. Making sure that you are getting proper nutrition while cutting back on the lower end of your calorie allotment. Making getting the water important because that helps to lose the weight. Rest days. We must have them so that we can lose the weight. That's a little of what just came out of me. Sounds like you have a Word from the Lord and I think you should move on it. There are so many here on Spark that can't do those boot camps and definitely not those videos. I did a 10 min video the other night, Roz and I swore up and down that I never did this when I was in that bootcamp. Those are some cardio videos Nicole is leading. But it works for a lot. So go with God and fill a need. Love ya!

    Since you don't have time for lots of exercise, maybe just commit to small time-saving exercises like taking the stairs, walk or run in place while you watch T.V., and stretching during lunch.

The 4 Day Diet
Week 1: Day 1 - Induction Plan
what I should eat & exercise for today (paraphrased here hey I'm not rewriting the book!) Updated with what I do as the day goes on. I have the book & thought I'd try it. Let's see how close I stick to it.
These are the MAX Quantities to be Consumed for the day! Eat to satisfy my hunger, not til I'm stuffed!
Eat like a King for Breakfast, a Prince for Lunch & a Pauper for Dinner. emoticon
2 cups coffee
2 cups raw or cooked GREEN leafy veggie
1 cup freshly squeezed lemonade (1 tbsp sugar)
10 grams psyllium husk
4 servings of fruit
-1 cup blueberries (blended w/3cups water for a breakfast juice)
-1/2 cup of frozen blueberries eating as a breakfast food)
One 6oz low or fat free yogurt NO fruit or Add real
1 med size (2 cups) Green Garden Salad (veggies only) 3 tbsp low/fat free dressing
1 cup cooked Beans, Lentils or other Legumes (no baked beans)
1.5 cups cooked brown rice
UNLIMITED PLAIN H2O (1 cup b4 ea, meal)
Exercise: 40 minutes of cardio

Yes, I need to have something in mind to aim for, you're right! Keep trying until something works! Even incorporating some of the healthy stuff is good too I expect! emoticon]

I'll be breaking my exercise up over the day. I actually thought that maybe I'd walk downtown and go see that "Eat Pray Love" movie. If not I'll do a FitTV show (I have a few on TiVo).
