I'm GOing RED for MYSELF & Others Today!

Friday, February 05, 2010

Today, Feb. 5th, take a stand & GO RED in your SP profile pix or with your attire today, for National Wear Red Day raises awareness of Heart Disease & Strokes.

I ACTUALLY HAVE HEART DISEASE; results of my 2nd surgery, within 1 month, on Dec. 17, 2007.
I now have Congestive Heart Failure & Cardiomyopathy.
So TODAY I WEAR RED for myself & others.
I give all GLORY to GOD for my Life!!!
Be blessed & Take Care!!!

I love your picture! You do look beautiful in Red. I read this too late but I know February is heart month. I intend to exercise more this month. I will try wearing red during the month as it is the color of our heart. I have high blood pressure so I have to be really careful. Yes, we shoulld all give GOD the GLORY for all of our lives.
GOD BLESS!

Project: My Fitness/Health in 7 Words

Monday, January 25, 2010

Hey, just came from a Poetry/Writing class at the Cancer Center today. And I decided to do a spin off project, if you would. Would you like to help with the first part?

Using only 7 words please write about "Fitness/Health". What are your thoughts re: Fitness, Health, Healthy, Exercise, Workout, Fit or Strength?
BUT you can ONLY use 7 WORDS
:o) It can be your experience or whatever comes to mind when you hear/see those words. Write a sentence or just the words themselves!

Thanks so much for sharing and being a part of my project!

Thinking of Starting a Blog...What Kind?

Monday, January 11, 2010

I'm thinking of starting a Blog at Blogspot or perhalps another free Blog site...hmmm What Kind?
What type of blogs do people really like to read & follow?
What subjects or topics?
emoticon
*Do I talk about my health struggles and weight loss?
*Natural hair care?
*Etiquette & Charm (or lack thereof) in society?
*A Charm School Grad trying to get organized & back on her feet after being very ill?
*Picking up life after being sick?
*Living in the City?
*Going Back To School &Changing Careers in Your 30's?
*Church Stuff?
*Share a Proverb or Bible verse/passage & relate it to something happening in my life or in the world today?
emoticon
ANY SUGGESTIONS on TOPICS???
ANY SUGGESTIONS on a NAME/TITLE???
ANY SUGGESTIONS on a GOOD BLOG SPOT???
emoticon
I value my SparkFriends Opinions, so any comment is helpful & encouraging...
thanks in advance!

I use blogspot. I like it a lot. I think the best blogs are the ones people are passionate about. I love to read people's blogs when they are passionate -- what they are passionate about matters less!!

emoticonBOBBIENORTHERN! I also like a lot of those ideas. I would stay away from the E & C in Society though. That might turn into quite a bitch-fest. I know I'd rather not show "That" side of me...but while we're on the subject...What's with people who have conversations on their cell phones in public? and wha't up with... emoticonoops, never mind.

emoticon emoticonAll of the above would be good and interesting. As for titles I am at a loss emoticonI am not too good at titles. Another thing you could blog about is your relationship with the Lord Jesus, that always good for interesting communication. I love blogging about the Love of the Lord and what His going to the cross means to us and how we are now free from the curse of the law because He went to the cross. Have a great day. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

"39 & Holding" What Are You Holding On To?

Monday, January 11, 2010

Hi all! I thought I'd share another lil story to get you smiling today! I didn't have a title for it so I just took part of the story to title this blog.
emoticon
Little Johnny asked his grandpa how old he was.
Grandpa answered, "39 and holding."
Johnny thought for a moment, and then said,
"And how old would you be if you let go?"
emoticon

So I'm wondering...what might you be holding onto? When asked, what do you say you are ...& holding? And what/how would you be if you let go?
Have a blessed week SP friends!

I WALKED & I WALKED...my Reward...Happiness & a Message! lol

Friday, January 08, 2010

Okay today I walked outside! And I mean I WALKED!!!
I walked to visit my boyfriend to say HI on my way to the library (where I got 2 heavy books to add to my walk)lol! And then I walked to Starbucks and then I walked to the bank (where I was able to sit for a bit). Then I passed "The Massage Place" and decided to go back & make an appointment for next week!!! YAY for me!!!! Then off to the Gas Company to pay a bill. AND THEN back to say hi to my bf (who was still gardening) and then home!

From 10:30 - 1:33pm I'll say a good 2 hours actually walking, that's 120 minutes at my weight would be 1200 Physical Activity Calories burned!! There are A LOT of hills in downtown SB lol.

It was good to be outside & I wish I did it more often! Later I will do the Bootcamp Upper Body Workout w/Stability Ball it's only 5 minutes! And I'm ALL GOOD on the 30 minute Cardio! :o)

Well, I help all is well with everyone!
Stay encouraged!!!

Yes, fresh air, good exercise and seeing my man was a GREAT combination! Now hopefully it won't be too far away til it happens again!

I also like to walk, once I get started! tee. I like the feelings of accomplishment afterward . I like to push it at times too so my heart rate gets up. That really feels good when I get that blood flowing and a sweat. I also like to just try to hold myself back at times just like a walk in the park, I mostly walk on my treadmill. It is just too cold out right now.
