"39 & Holding" What Are You Holding On To?

Monday, January 11, 2010

Hi all! I thought I'd share another lil story to get you smiling today! I didn't have a title for it so I just took part of the story to title this blog.
emoticon
Little Johnny asked his grandpa how old he was.
Grandpa answered, "39 and holding."
Johnny thought for a moment, and then said,
"And how old would you be if you let go?"
emoticon

So I'm wondering...what might you be holding onto? When asked, what do you say you are ...& holding? And what/how would you be if you let go?
Have a blessed week SP friends!

I WALKED & I WALKED...my Reward...Happiness & a Message! lol

Friday, January 08, 2010

Okay today I walked outside! And I mean I WALKED!!!
I walked to visit my boyfriend to say HI on my way to the library (where I got 2 heavy books to add to my walk)lol! And then I walked to Starbucks and then I walked to the bank (where I was able to sit for a bit). Then I passed "The Massage Place" and decided to go back & make an appointment for next week!!! YAY for me!!!! Then off to the Gas Company to pay a bill. AND THEN back to say hi to my bf (who was still gardening) and then home!

From 10:30 - 1:33pm I'll say a good 2 hours actually walking, that's 120 minutes at my weight would be 1200 Physical Activity Calories burned!! There are A LOT of hills in downtown SB lol.

It was good to be outside & I wish I did it more often! Later I will do the Bootcamp Upper Body Workout w/Stability Ball it's only 5 minutes! And I'm ALL GOOD on the 30 minute Cardio! :o)

Well, I help all is well with everyone!
Stay encouraged!!!

I also like to walk, once I get started! tee. I like the feelings of accomplishment afterward . I like to push it at times too so my heart rate gets up. That really feels good when I get that blood flowing and a sweat. I also like to just try to hold myself back at times just like a walk in the park, I mostly walk on my treadmill. It is just too cold out right now.

FREE if Under 5!

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Just thought I'd share this! Hope you enjoy it!
It didn't have a title so I just titled my Blog "FREE if Under 5"

A little boy in church for the first time watched as the ushers passed
around the offering plates. When they came near his pew, the boy said
loudly, "Don't pay for me Daddy. I'm under five."

This reminds me of my 4 year old son who loved (and still does) to eat. We were the providers of the bread for Communion Sunday each month and I would always bake a couple of fresh loaves. He wanted to eat it so badly before church and of course I told him it was for the body of Christ. (We are Methodist) That morning we stood in line as usual to take the bread and juice and when we reached the pastor holding the bread he grabbed a chunk off in his little chubby fingers, then took a step, looked back and grabbed another, walking back to the pew with such happiness. A few in the congregation noticed and chuckled but I'll never forget what Pastor Fred said. "That's right James take as much as you want. With Jesus there is always seconds, and thirds and fourths." emoticon

My Notes On "Top 10 Secrets to Weight Loss for Thyroid Patients" Nov. 4, 2009 Webinar

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

I'm attending a webinar entitled "Top 10 Secrets to Weight Loss for Thyroid Patients". Wed. Nov. 4, 2009, 5-6pm PST

I'm taking my notes here & will save my notes by posting periodically throughout the webinar. Let's see what happens. My notes begin after the 7 images.

This is the description:
"I'll (Mary Shomon, author of "The Thyroid Diet" & from About.com Guide to Thyroid Disease since 1997) be joining weight loss expert, Jena la Flamme - founder of the Jena Wellness Center in Manhattan -- for a webinar this coming Wednesday November 4, 2009, to talk about weight loss for thyroid patients. I'll be talking about how thyroid problems can get in the way of losing weight. And Jena is an inspiration when it comes to helping us learn healthy new ways to eat, new ways to think about food, and most importantly, how to think about and treat our own bodies to successfully lose weight. "

CALLIOPE13 - I think it's in my email. I'll check for you! Sorry it's taken awhile, just really looked at my page since the webinar. Been having some Thyroid Down Days! lol

Okay so I didn't come right back after the webinar...actually I wasn't that impressed!

I don't need to know if I have a Low Thyroid...I already know it and want some ideas on how to lose weight with it!

A lot of time was spent on how to figure out if you have a low thyroid. There were a few things that made me feel better but didn't offer much on weight loss!

YES we can exercise and eat right and still gain weight or stay the same!
YES stress relief and sleep is good for everyone!
YES YES YES these are things that most of us do, most of the time (unless we're feeling fatigue)lol

So overall, it was a fair webinar...as far as any real secrets...NAW!

I think the best thing we can do is to have an attitude adjustment and visual adjustment. that whenever the weight shapes up great! But until then we should as much as we can remind ourselves that we must love ourselves. That when we can, we do the best for ourselves and when we can't...it's just that, we can't and that's okay, because there will come that day when we are feeling that things are good!

I'll go over my notes and post the "10 secrets" but this was the outcome that I had!

ALL THE BEST, KEEP ON LOVING YOURSELF!!!!!!!!
