Transfering My Spark Page. I want to make room for a timed weigh-in on my page (11/15/08)
I'm here like many, in the pursuit of loosing weight, getting healthy & staying active! I have lost and gained weight while on SP, but hands down, I'm still here because I enjoy the motivation, inspiration, support and accountability.
I hope...NO... I look forward to seeing my body change for the better. And I see that change coming real soon. I love me, and my parents are most supportive in the way I look right now which I love and am thankful for. My health of course is important to them, but they are just glad that I'm alive, because I came real close to not being around too many times (cancer, recent hospital surjuries and all). So I must continue to take care of myself by taking my meds, taking it easy (not doing too much), being stress free and taking one day at a time!
I'm not a "skinny" person by any means but I carry myself well and I think that makes a difference. And I must say, I do look good! I just figure while I'm trying to remember that health is first before weight loss (I keep doing it the other way around because sometimes I just want to be small like I was before), hopefully I'll drop several pounds as well!!!
So move over thyroid, cardio, hormonal, chronic fatigue, fibro., medication side effects, etc....I'm pushing through all of it with the power of the Lord!!! My Pursuit of Being Healthy & F.I.T. (Faithfully In Tune/Touch) with God begins everyday with His grace! ~RYC (11.10.2008 update)
(11/13/08 Update) I recieved my Healthy Solutions Quick Start Diet Kit last night. YAY!!! My plan is to officially start the HMR Program Nov. 17th and to do it for 3 months. I also have planned "out of the box" days: Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's, these days I will eat some family food.
Valentine's Day will be the 3 month evaluation point. I'll see where I am and if I want to continue. I hope to keep up with the HMR 2,000 calories of PA (physical activity) and met or even surpass my SP Goal of being 185 lbs. by then.
I also started a HMR Program Sparkers team. It's for those who want to know more about HMR, get extra support while doing the diet or in maintance phase.
Whatever path you chose to help get your body to a healthier you, make sure you do just that. Do it the healthy way! Take Care!

With prayers going out to all who have and are loosing their homes and other posessions.
I recieved an Evacution Warning by the Sheriff's Alert call this morning @ 5:11am. I have not had a mandatory call.
Things appear to be getting better, But it's 0% contained and they still tell us to be careful and watchful.
Lots of smoke and ash embers, so I'm trying to keep my health in order the best I can. Thank you all for your words and prayers. I'll try to keep you all updated!!!
11/15/08 Saturday morning update: Outside literally looks and smells like the inside of a chimney! It's pretty bad. I will stay in as much as I can. Do some cleaning and resting. I'm sure I'll have to go out, but I'll try not to.
I also found out that an older church member and her husband lost their home in the fire. There are over 111 homes that were lost so far, so my prayers stay with them all.

Well, we have another fire. This time it's a lot closer. I'm live in Santa Barbara, CA and am less than 3 miles below the fire (as of now, it's still not contained yet. so it keeps getting closer). I pray that no more homes or people get burned, and that I don't have to evacuate. But I'm doing some packing up. I also have friends who have had to leave their homes.
My asthma & breathing has been effected, but I'm doing okay. I can see the fire from my home, that's how close it is. The helicopters keep flying over my roof and I don't know if I'll get any or much sleep.
My parents want me to just leave and drive north to get a hotel. Or that at least have my BF come over and stay with me. I think he's on his way...
Well, I pray that things work out and get contained REAL SOON!!! And I'll keep the t.v. on Channel 3 News, unless the power goes out again. And I'll do like they say; just be prepared to evacuate.
Not sure if I'll get to write tomorrow but I'll try! It will keep me calm, thinking about writing on SP again! There goes another helicopter!

It's Monday November 10, 2008 and I weigh 204 lbs. I am awaiting a shipment of HMR supplies from the Doctor's Weight Management Program. Think of it as a Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig type of deal. I might blog about how it works. They have clinics, but I chose to do the at home program, since I have SP as a support system and because I get a 10% discount on repeat home orders. I should recieve the 3 week supply of food, shakes & material this week! I'm doing this to help me with my nutrition portion of getting healthy.
With worrying about taking my medication, doctors appt., trying to move everyday and stay sane, it can get to be quite a bit ya know. So I wanted to try having a program set up that would help me structure my meals with prepared entrees (shakes) in a readily available food plan.
So let's see how it works this time around.

Okay so I am going to list my weight loss & fitness goals here again. And try to be more realistic, since my pounds creeped back up to 191 from 165 this year!
Sept. 7, 2008 Starting 191 lbs. try to get to/maintain 140-130 lbs by Resurrection Day, April 4, 2010! Be toned with a lower body fat % & great self-esteem and self-confidence!
*UPDATE: Sept. 21st, I'm up to 202.6 lbs, the HIGHEST I've ever been in my life!!! Something's gotta change! I know that these medication adjustments have my body retaining fluid & going through changes, but this is not cool! Well, let's seee what happends this week?!
