High School Concert

Monday, December 13, 2010

Tonight was the high school choir and band Christmas concert. Everyone performed
beautifully! It means that the school year is almost 1/2 over. How fast the time has gone.
I stayed on track today in all areas. It could have gone the other way.
There was an ambulance call just before 5:30. It was a good thing it was a transfer to
the closest hospital 16 miles away or I could have been late for the concert. I did shoehorn
a bowl of soup in and that held me until I got home. Now I have rounded that out with fruit
and veggies. Ahhh, pure contentment.
Have a great evening and thanks for reading! HUGS!
Oh, before I forget, here's your motivation for tomorrow.
Move it and prove it! emoticon

What a turnaround

Sunday, December 12, 2010

After yesterday's whiteout conditions, today was partly sunny and looked much nicer
outside than it was. There was a certain bite of cold. We rush inside to enjoy the warmth
of the wood furnace.
We are babysitting the grandchildren while the parents went shopping this afternoon.
They were here for lunch and may even be here through the supper hour. Time will tell.
Another two kinds of cookies grace the buffet. I am running out of storage containers so
that means (gasp) someone will have to start eating them. Most will be served at church,
either Wednesday or Sunday evenings. Otherwise, they could still be here until July LOL!
I shoveled snow yesterday and took time to shovel a few minutes before DS3 came with
the snow blower to clean out the driveway and up to the front steps. It does it a lot faster
but I still like to get out and use my muscles.
Has today gone as you planned? Or do you need a turnaround to get back on track?
Keep your eyes on the prize and on your goals!
HUGS and thanks for reading and commenting!

Sounds like you have a jump on me-I start my baking Thur and will finish Fri. A friend comes and we have a grand ole time making them together-have done this last 4 yrs. Then I hurry to give them away so they don't sit here saying eat me! I just have to keep enough for Open House I host every New Year's Eve.

Hey sweet friend...you have been busy. All of that baking is so wonderful during the holidays! And shoveling snow is QUITE the work out...so you've done two great things today! I thought I was really doing pretty good on my weight loss until I spotted a recent pic taken with a Sparkling friend who came to visit. Uggghhhh...lots more work to do...I seriously NEED to shed another 30-35 pounds...but with Spark people....I know that is entirely do~able...thank goodness for Spark people...and for encouraging friends like you! emoticon

First Blizzard of the Season!

Saturday, December 11, 2010

You can tell it's winter when you get your first blizzard of the season. It sounded like we were
going to get missed but Mother Nature had other plans. Silly of her LOL!
First it was under an inch or snow, then a trace to 2 inches, now 3-6 inches with very
gusty northwest winds creating whiteout conditions. Humm! Guess I'll just stay inside!
Funny how plans can change with different circumstances.
How are your plans going? Have you had to change your plans during this holiday season?
The main thing to remember is that, despite a change in plans, your thinking has to be
in step with your goals. Create a way to come out on top and do the best you can!
You have the tools and the knowledge! Now let's use both to be a SUCCESS!
Thanks for reading and commenting! I'm going out to shovel some snow to keep the
sidewalk from getting packed. Serious cardio and maybe I'll have to go out more than
once. But, that's my plan for today! HUGS!

WE are finally getting some rain, but sounds like it's going to be an all day rain while the temps drop steadily. Out high is supposed to be 32F, but it's 39F now and dropping! Concerned mostly about ice becoming a factor in the morning!
HAve a great day and don't hurt yourself weilding the shovel!

Thanks for the motivational words! You shoveling snow is an inspiration to me. No snow here, but I can work on getting my steps in on the sidewalks in town. Take care!

Snow shoveling is such a 'power' workout. I love it although I know it can be stressful when it's needed just before work and such.

We (Toronto) were missed in the expected snow storm yesterday but had slight flurries. It was pretty but now it's gone. Hope we have some more before Christmas!

Moving forward

Friday, December 10, 2010

The week has flown by and Christmas will be here before I know it. But I am moving forward
and have every intention of skating through the holiday season and maintaining. I made it
through Thanksgiving so I hope I can duplicate the success this holiday as well.
Another ambulance run over the noon hour so I will maybe take a break at 3 and have my apple. It was to be my dessert at lunch time but it will wait for me. I really have to catch up
on paperwork so I'll keep this short.
Are you mving forward to your goal? Remember one step back and two steps forward?
Slight setbacks are upsetting but what a wealth of knowledge can be gleaned when we
sit back and analyze what we need to change for success to happen. You can do it!
Thanks for reading and commenting! HUGS!

Beautiful day but

Thursday, December 09, 2010

the weather is about to change and turn frigid! Today it was a balmy 50 degrees and by Monday the overday high will be 10? Hmmm, makes me wonder how the weather can
change so quickly. But it is the time of the year for the unpredictable.
Are there aspects of your life that are unpredictable? Sure, because life happens and
schedules and circumstances change all the time. But what needs to be a constant
in our lives is staying on track, planning ahead and sticking with our healthier lifestyle.
The unexpected party, the office worker who surprises everyone with fresh baked
cookies, a last minute invitation to eat out. But you can predict how you will react by
taking time to remind yourself of your goal. You can treat yourself but keep make sure
that treat is one you can live with.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Have a fun Friday! HUGS!

Know what you mean about the weather. We've finally gotten above freezeing yesterday in the day time. Looks like tomorrow night will be the only one above freezing and highs in the50's a couple of days, some rain then back sown into the deep freeze! Brrrr!!!
Yes, life happens, but for me, now that I do not work outside the home, there are no parties and such to deal with! Yay!
Hope you are enjoying the season!

Merry Christmas!
Happy Holidays!
