Windy Wednesday!

Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Almost needed rocks in your pockets the way the wind was blowing today! I hung jeans and a jacket on the clothesline and used twice as many clothespins as normal. They were still
on the line tonight.
I had one customer come in today and it was a 2 hour long conversation about someone stealing his identity, his mail, etc. I had only talked to him on the phone before so it was
quite a shock when he showed up. He was totally oblivious to anyone else in the room.
Strange!
So, I am majorly behind in what needed to be done and will have plenty to start my day off tomorrow. It could be an interesting day.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Take what life offers you and make it work!

Hmmm, did the wind blow clear across the states? It was so windy here as well, I thought some trees were going to come toppling down.

Two thumbs up to you for being such a good, compassionate listener!

How sweet you were to listen to his long winded story. I really think that sometimes we just act as God's little angels when people really need us. I like that! You are surely an angel to be thankful for! emoticon

The wind was definitely a force to be reckoned with yesterday. I'm glad today the wind is calm!

I am glad you had a solid day as I call them. I'm not sure where you are but here in Vancouver it was windy and cold then sunny and cold and then rainy and cold. I think that spring and winter decided to change spots.

Tuesday's update

Tuesday, May 04, 2010

Windy and cool but still a great day! Lots of things going on. The work is progressing on the work site across the street. I took pics and will try to post tomorrow. Errands to do this afternoon so I got a lot of walking in. Still needed a jacket, especially walking to the north.
Tonight it took almost an hour to get chores done. We threw in a few extra items that just needed to be done. Firemen's meeting at 7:30, checking out the trucks and supplies. I went
through the ambulance and filled in where we were short a few things. Very late (for me)
supper but I made good choices so I am content with that.
Winding down now and waiting for the dryer to shut off. All's well on the home front. Thanks for reading and commenting.
Tomorrow is the middle of the week so take the opportunity to kick it up a notch and stay focused. Extra little steps lead to a big victory in the end! emoticon

Just another Monday

Monday, May 03, 2010

As far as Mondays go, this was pretty normal. The day started out cool and breezy, then warmed up and here came the wind. Lots of dirt was blowing around.
This afternoon the hatchery delivered baby chicks for my cousin. Her son is in the hospital
undergoing tests so she asked me to pick them up until she has time to get them. They are residing in a box in my basement until tomorrow and I'll move them out to the barn. It will
take a little work as the older ones are accustomed to having the whole place to themselves.
FFA banquet went well. I made good choices. There was a lemon cheesecake dessert that was heavenly and had a lot of lemon in it. I went over my calorie range a little but will be back on track tomorrow.
As for yesterday, we enjoyed talking about the recital on the way home. The whol production was taped and copies will go to the parents later. All cell phones had to be turned off and cameras left tucked away for the performance.
Alas, some of the tasks left go earlier in the day needed to be addressed. DS had mowed all
afternoon and had two pickup loads of grass to dispose of, then homework until almost 11.
3 more weeks of school. He'll "survive but just barely, Mom"!
Thanks for reading and commenting. Tuesday will be here before we know it. Get enough sleep so you are ready for the day and have the energy to live life to the fullest. The world is waiting! emoticon

Glad you had a good day. I would LOVE to hold a baby chick. That is something I have never done. Newborn puppies, yes. Baby birds, no. Thanks for sharing and caring,

Dance Recital

Sunday, May 02, 2010

It was fantastic! The whole ensemble did a wonderful job but two little girls caught
Grandma's eyes quickly. They were so adorable!
It was a very good day but I'll save the rest of the details for tomorrow.

If you find an obstacle in your path: go around it, under it, or over it. It is your choice but
please, do something. Standing there looking at it is a waste of time. emoticon

May Day!

Saturday, May 01, 2010

Windy, cool but still a great day. Laundry all washed, hung outside and smells so good.
Babysat grandson-he's such a joy. Baked bread, took grandchildren out to help with chores, then had the kids and DD over for grilled chicken, roasted potatoes and freshly steamed
asparagus. Birthday party for next door neighbor-fun way to end the day.
Thanks for reading and commenting.

Thanks again for the wonderful dinner and fresh bread! The kids went right to bed, so all the fresh air did wonders. Have a great night and see you in the morning.
