Dance Recital

Sunday, May 02, 2010

It was fantastic! The whole ensemble did a wonderful job but two little girls caught
Grandma's eyes quickly. They were so adorable!
It was a very good day but I'll save the rest of the details for tomorrow.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
If you find an obstacle in your path: go around it, under it, or over it. It is your choice but
please, do something. Standing there looking at it is a waste of time. emoticon

I've been frozen in space and time, looking at my obstacles due to a number of factors. Thanks for the reminder that I need to do something. I will do just that. Have a wonderful evening.

May Day!

Saturday, May 01, 2010

Windy, cool but still a great day. Laundry all washed, hung outside and smells so good.
Babysat grandson-he's such a joy. Baked bread, took grandchildren out to help with chores, then had the kids and DD over for grilled chicken, roasted potatoes and freshly steamed
asparagus. Birthday party for next door neighbor-fun way to end the day.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
It's the first day of a new month. Revisit your goals and stick to the plan. Make every day count! emoticon

Thanks again for the wonderful dinner and fresh bread! The kids went right to bed, so all the fresh air did wonders. Have a great night and see you in the morning.

Woohoo for the Weekend!

Friday, April 30, 2010

I am as ready for the weekend as a girl (?) can get! I had a great week, staying on track with everything. As an added bonus to myself, I am going to pick a reward for all my effort. I want it to be something very special so I have to think of something. I'll sleep on it.
The day ended up fairly nice. Just one little shower of rain as I was milking the goats. But I was inside so I could watch out of the barn window. Sweet, soft, gentle rain that finished almost as soon as it began. Blink and you might miss it kind of deal.
After chores were done, I drove to oldest son's house to start mowing the lawn. After working all day yesterday and 4 hours today, he was tired and groggy. The self propelled mower is propel-less. So it is basically a push mower and you do have to PUSH!. After 45
minutes, I was ready to pass off the fun to him and pull some weeds. I rearranged the
flower pots in the yard so trimming was a breeze. I have a funny feeling that I will be feeling
a few muscles that normally sit back and relax. This could be interesting!
We will be babysitting the grandson tomorrow and Papa thinks we could bake some bread.
It sounds like a plan. If the day is nice enough, laundry will be hung outside.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Have a great and glorious weekend. Take pride in
your accomplishments and believe that the best is yet to come! emoticon

Trouble with those self-propelled mowers when the propulsion fails... they are heavier than the non-self-propelled kind.

Have a great weekend, hope the fresh air dry works out... love sun-dried sheets and shirts and such! emoticon

Trying something new

Thursday, April 29, 2010

I ordered seeds and one of the varieties I really wanted was left out and another was substituted. So I called the company. Since it was their error, they sent me the original
request and an extra variety to try.
I had ordered Tom Thumb peas that can be grown in a flower pot and stay quite small. The extra variety was Poona Kheera cucumbers to try in place of a white cucumber that sold out
in January. This variety is from India. This could be a very interesting year in the garden.
A light shower has moved in tonight. DS mowed one lawn tonight before the high school
concert. The rain will move out in the morning and the grass should dry nicely tomorrow.
I'll post pictures on my new veggies when the time is right. Hope you all have a wonderful
night, sleep well and wake refreshed for Friday!
Thanks for stopping by. emoticon

Middle of the week

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Wednesday is drawing to a close and I have the house to myself for a short time. DS is mowing lawns and DH is at a church meeting! Peace and solitude-LOVE it!
I was working on the end of the month bills today and it is time to pay taxes on the property.
Surprisingly, it is much the same as last year. I can handle that.
The wind blew fiercely today and there was a wind advisory. The winds have calmed now
and there is a chance of rain starting tomorrow. The weather will cool from the 70 degree day we had to a more normal temperature of 55.
The garden is slowly drying out and DH planted more onions tonight. A one pound bag sold for 25 cents. It was such a bargain that he bought 2 bags.
Laundry was piling up again but I have most of it done. Just folding left after the dryer
shuts off. I could just see my jeans flying to North Dakota today in the wind LOL!
Soon the month of April will be over. Was this your month to make great strides in your
journey? I hope so. Do the best you can. The only person holding you back is you!
Have a wonderful Wednesday evening and strive to make tomorrow another Sparktacular
day. Thanks for stopping by. emoticon

LOL, Me can do a lot of damage to me!!!! This has not been my best month but it could have been much worse. I am grateful for the understanding I am beginning to have with different foods and how they affect my body and how I feel. Still a lot of work to go but many of my failures this month have been good learning lessons for me!!!
