Thursday already!

Thursday, July 16, 2009

The weeks just fly by and I missed blogging yesterday, I think.
Another little shower this morning! It is now cool and less humid than the past month. Everything is so green! I picked cucumbers again last night and made dill pickles. Just two quarts but I want to stay ahead. We also brought in new potatoes. They'll taste good this weekend.
Stayed on track with nutrition and exercise. Drank my water faithfully! I am feeling great
and enjoying the journey!
I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Duck and Dodge

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

We missed the nasty weather last night. We had about 10 hundredths of rain. It is overcast and very humid today. Not sure what comes next.
I made my first jar of pickles last night. We had enough white picklers to fill a half gallon jar. They will be ready to eat on Saturday. My little grandson held the "bucket" so Grandma could pick the cucumbers. He was so fascinated by the goats and the chickens. He just loves
"grandma's farm".
I'm gettin my hair trimmed on the lunch break so I'll scoot and post more later.
Have a wonderful day!

Your picking cucumbers already? And Cathy has been eating from her zuchinni also! Mine are not even vining out very well and no flowers yet let alone produce. SIGH I am just starting to get flowers on my tomato plants.

Ummm, what some weeds? Those are REALLY growing . Grrrr!

We got rain yesterday, last night and it is raining right now. Everything is so green and beautiful. Last week we had close to four inches.

Pics on the new haircut! Have a great day.

Monday-aghhh!

Monday, July 13, 2009

Mondays are such a lousy way to start a week. Lots like we're in for more nasty weather tonight and I am still dealing with claims from the last event.
On a bright note, we harvested the first picking of green beans, more broccoli and zucchini and lettuce. MIL and SIL are coming tonight so I can share the bounty. More on our visit tomorrow since my time is short tonight.
Take care, dear friends and have a blessed evening!

I have been picking my broccoli too. But the beans are just showing up as tiny. It will be another couple weeks. Tomatoes and corn to follow. Can't wait to get fresh vegatables on the table every night. Cucumbers will be coming out my ears soon. My son dubbed them cu-pickles the other day. He loves pickles, but messed the name up when he saw me pick the cucumbers. Mondays can be a drag.....

MAMABETS joined SP today! Everyone, please welcome her! We have been friends forever and have shared so many trials, disappointments, sorrows but also joys, that I feel hugely
blessed to have her join!
On an added note, it is exactly 2 years ago that I started this journey and released 55 pounds from my frame. Although I wasn't always on this site, I credit SP for giving my life back!
Thanks to all my friends forall the support! You are a fantastic group of people and I love you all dearly!

Blessed Sunday!

Sunday, July 12, 2009

I am truly blessed today. I stepped on the scale and I am down to 125! This busy week did not
put me off the track of my goal and I was rewarded. I no longer dread weighing in like I did 6 months ago.
I will be babysitting all day while DD attends a Family Support group meeting with the National Guard. It is all day and she was concerned that her son would not be able to handle being with a sitter that long. He is a handful but we will find lots to do to keep him and his sister occupied.
There is a very good chance it will rain today so we will take both of them to the farm so
they can see the goats and chickens. Thay love all the animals.
I hope to have pics of son's big grins from yeaterday's goat show! He really is such a big kid when he has all the attention! Yesterday was awesome for him! He worked hard, did all the washing and clipping and stayed focused. At 15, that can be hard.
I hope and pray that everyone has a blessed and peaceful Sunday!
