Another project completed

Sunday, June 10, 2012

Since spring arrived early, I have contemplated cleaning the front
porch as it collects leaves and dirt through the winter months.
Today was the day. I moved things that should have been stored
in the shed last fall, plus put away the winter snow removal
tools. I gathered up the odds and ends and pitched most of it
into the garbage. The biggest part of the job was sweeping the
carpeting and getting the dirt into the garbage can. The wind
was trying to make a fool of me but I succeeded. It sure looks
much nicer now.
Inside I carried DS's graduation cards and gifts upstairs,
along with his 2 trombones, backpacks and dress shoes.
Since he has left for Performing Arts camp, I have the rest
of the week to rearrange the living room so it gets back
to it's intended use LOL. For so long it was a recovery
room and that is behind us as well. His voice is back to
normal, he sleeps better and is full of energy. He was
so excited to leave today that he forgot his sleeping bag.
Good thing he has friends who will borrow him one for
the week.
GS's birthday party was fun with lots of good food and
of course, birthday cake and ice cream. He had fun
with his cousins and playmates who were there.
Today we had a retirement party for our head usher.
After 55 years of caring for the flowers, lawn, and
shoveling snow, his doctor told him he needs to start
taking it easy. He is a very spry 96 years old. He
was moved to tears by the party and the gifts. You
would have to look long and hard to find another
wonderful man like him.
Time to get some supper in the oven so thanks for
stopping by and have a great night. HUGS!

Wow...another busy day in Marsha land! emoticon I'm happy that little usher was so moved by the party. That's the absolute reason we are all on this earth to serve and honor our neighbor. His response was exactly what I'd love for the entire world to experience. What a beautiful place if we could all be so appreciative of each other. Makes me want to move to a small town far, far away where it's mostly one for all and mostly all for one. I'm NOT gullible enough to know that's the case in every small town...but yours certainly seems especially helpful and tolerant of each other. emoticon Here's a gold star for being such a caring sweet individual!

What a wonderful way to spend your day. Amazing that your "young" usher was able to serve so long. Sounds like he is still doing well which is fantastic.
Wishing you a wonderful week.

Saturday Wrap-up

Saturday, June 09, 2012

We accomplished a lot today. I washed 4 loads of laundry
and hung it outside. The wind was brisk and it all dried in
record time. In and folded by midafternoon.
I baked bread today-a mixture of white and stone ground
wheat. It smells so delicious. We are planning to take a
loaf along to DD's house as we are celebrating our youngest
GS's 4th birthday. Also taking along spinach and asparagus
as we have plenty to spare.
The birthday party was fun and MIL traveled with us. Now
we are all back home and comfortable full after grilled
hamburgers. fresh fruit, baked beans, layered jello salad
and of course, birthday cake and ice cream.
Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks for stopping by.

8 Hours left in my day

Friday, June 08, 2012

Technically, it will be 6 3/4 hours until bedtime and I am making
a list of jobs I want to get done in that time. Sit in the office
for another 45 minutes and that cuts it to 6. Take an hour out
for supper and I am down to 5.
So what is on the list. I want to cut the lettuce and pick the
spinach in the garden. Both are long and lush rows so I
will be at it a while. Water the flowerbeds and the newly
planted rosebushes. I will save that for later when the
heat of the day is over. I would like to clean the living room
and dining room before tomorrow. I have a feeling we will
be baking bread and such.
I finished the projects from earlier this week. Woohoo!
I even had an ambulance run with one of my "grandpas"
but I think he should be fine.Looks to be another case
of getting overheated. Now that the temperatures are
in the 80's, I guess I can expect anything to happen.
Someone commented that I must thrive on excitement.
Yes, indeed! Better busy than bored so I will get a few
things done and catch up with you all tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

Bases and baseball

Friday, June 08, 2012

On a personal note, I touched all the bases today at work.
I struck out on a couple of things as the customer needs
were different and I was trying to match their budget. They
were appreciative of the time I took but I did give them
options and information. They will be better informed when
they consult an agent who can provide the product they
DS played baseball tonight and we traveled to the game.
They played hard and lost 5 to 3. At least we were out in
the cool evening air and in good company.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday. The weekend
is coming~

A little from Tuesday and today

Wednesday, June 06, 2012

Yesterday afternoon the fire department was paged out for
a control burn that went a little further than the farmer had
intended. I opted to stay in town as I knew the other EMT's
were out of town working. The guys had just returned when
the tones went off for the ambulance.
We transfered an older lady to the cardiac unit about 65
miles from home. She kept insisting that she felt fine
but the PA had referred her EKG to a specialist, who
wanted her in the hospital NOW. We had a nice time
visiting while we traveled and took her up to the room.
The dear sweet lady needed a pacemaker. She was
dismissed today, according to her son. I glad the dr
made sure she got the medical attention she needed.
It was a super busy day today and I do have a few
things to finish up tomorrow. The farmers are coming
in now with their crop reports so that will be the focus
from now until the end of June. I miss my SIL but he
has a very good job with a chance to advance in his
field so that is what is best.
Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by. HUGS!
