Life lessons learned from the incubator

Kind of an odd statement but one that holds true.
I have an incubator in the basement and have hatched
plenty of eggs over the years.
Some eggs are meant for hatching and some eggs are
just eggs. Try as I might, they were only meant for eating.
I find this out when I candle them after 10 days. Some
will make it through the process and I have a chick.
Some will stay clear and be taken out and thrown away.
Goals are like eggs. Some will go through the process
and become a success. Some go through the process
and produce empty results. But you still take the time
and effort anyway. Goals become successes when
you invest the time to do it right. If the proper "seed"
is there, good things happen. If the "seed" is missing,
you need to see that, even with time and effort, you need
to start over. I think you see where this is heading.
Take the time and make the time to plant the proper
"seed" for your efforts to become a success. The
chicken may have very little control over the egg to
produce a chick, but you have the ability to set a goal
and make it happen.
Long story short, make today and every day a success.
Plant the seed, nurture it and watch it grow.

GS and GD ready to start dyeing eggs.

DS helped supervise the process.
They had a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed the eggs at breafast
this morning.

What must get done gets done!

Today was like another Monday, only outside of the office. Up
early, SParked for a short time, got DS out of bed and off to
work at the cafe. Coffee time with the ladies, down to the store
to buy buns for Easter dinner, then off to church to help
polish the brass, change the paraments and set the tables
for Easter breakfast. Lunch with our little group of polishers
and decided to skip the birthday party. DD took our present
along with our regrets for missing all the excitement of a
one-year-old's big day.
Took a nap and then started the laundry. Three loads down
and almost caught up for the weekend. Out to do farm chores,
trim the new mama's hooves now that she has kidded. I
need to milk 3 goats now as the freshest nanny is the oldest
one and is a heavy milk producer. One I milk every other
day, just to keep her comfortable. Now it was time to eat.
Supper was a "moos gae" meal, German for must go.
I took out the remaining noodles and macaroni from earlier
meals this week, added a small cooked hamburger that I cut
up, fried lightly and added 2 beaten eggs and stirred until done.
Served this with cottage cheese and sweet pickles.
Then the real fun began. I cleaned out the refirgerator and
pitched odds and ends that were science projects in
progress. I removed all the glass shelves,
drawers and handy trays on the door and washed them.
My, does it look nice! Even DH and DS were impressed!
I have swept most of the floors and will mop tomorrow before
company comes. The dishwasher is doing it's thing and the
dryer is ready for the last load of clothes.
I am almost ready to relax for the night.
Back to the title and the pep talk. What must get done gets
done! As with all worthy enterprises, plans and goals,
the work starts when you decide to get it done and do
it right. The effort it takes to get it done will be worth it
in the end. So focus on what must get done and do it.

Game Plan for Good Friday

After a light breakfast and a solemn service in church, we
went to the cafe to firm up plans for the rest of our day. We
will have the GC and go to the garden to plant the potatoes.
I will boil the eggs for Easter breakfast and the GC will help
us with the dyeing process. Then a light supper and keep
the GC until mom and dad come back from the movie.
Plans for tonight are still to be decided. I should mop the
floors as we will be busy with a birthday party tomorrow
afternoon. the morning will be spent polishing the brass
candleabras and cross for Easter. DD's in-laws always
take on this duty at Christmas and we offered to assist
them as we have the time.

The sunshine is beautiful today. I feel like I am back at the top
of my game. I attended my meeting at 4:30 yesterday, planned
supper, did chores, got supper made and THEN, sat down to
watct Survivor in real time. I folded 3 baskets of laundry and
then went to church to change the paraments. When I came
back home, I loaded the dishwasher and got into my pj's.
DH wanted to know what the hurry was-it's only 10:30!
Well, I like to be comfortable, too. I was just about ready
to settle in for the night when the pager went off. The crew
took care of it for me. DS came home with a list of things
he needed for school today so I helped him locate the
things he was missing. I heard the crew check in just
before I fell asleep.
Another early morning but I am feeling pretty good. I
hope the tax man has good news when he calls.
Are you on top of your game and your goals? Make
adjustments, if need be, and go for it! Keep your attitude
positive and do what you need to do-just for you!
