Happy New Year, One and All!

Sunday, January 01, 2012

The New Year has arrived and with it, a whole new set of opportunites
and challenges! How will you fare in this new year?
I am planning to set my goals later today. We are going to church
to take down the trees and decorations. That will be a 2-3
hour process but it will be nice to have that finished. The group
will be smaller than when we put it up. DS2 is gone and DS3
will be working at the cafe. Such is life.
Have a happy and healthy start to your new year. May God's
blessings surround you with peace and joy and promise of
success. HUGS and thanks for stopping by.

Yes, I need to undecorate my tree today as well... it is not easy... I know it's time, but I enjoy it SO much. It's always hard to do, but then I'm pleased to have my extra space back afterwards.

Happy New Year!!!! May it contain many blessings & continued success!

It's always a little sad to take down the decorations. We need to keep Christmas in our hearts once the outward trappings are gone. But, it's ok, the stores already have Valentine's day stuff out! Hugs!

Preparing for a fresh start

Saturday, December 31, 2011

As 2011 quickly comes to an end, I am putting away the Christmas
ornaments and garland, packing away the light and the wrapping
paper and getting the house in order for the New Year.
I have pulled the sheets off the bed, washed them and hung
them outside on the clothesline. How about that for the last
day of December? Totally awesome.
I am reviewing my goals and assessing this past year. There
were the inevitable shortcomings but those were surpassed
by success and golden opportunities to stay on track.
We will enjoy a wonderful dinner with family and friends tonight.
I will be AF, as is my normal. I will be carrying my pager and
need a clear head should someone else imbibe too much. That
has toned down so much in the last 5 years. People are starting
to drink less and it shows. Maybe it is because we are getting
older LOL! I can live with that.
May your New Year be blessed with health and happiness. Make
wise choices-something you can live with tomorrow. Let
the fun begin! Thanks for stopping by! emoticon emoticon

The process, in reverse

Friday, December 30, 2011

It was time to take down the Christmas tree as it was very dry
and shedding all over the wood floor. It seemed to take longer
now than it did when I decorated. Either it got taller or I got smaller.
Well, it was a taller tree to begin with LOL! DH consented to
assist me in carrying it out of the house. That was his sole
contribution to tonight's efforts. Next year, I'll put him in charge.
Sure, I can see that happen.
I am busy doing laundry while I am rolling up the lights and boxing
up the ornaments. The dishwasher is almost done and I'll give it
time to air dry the dishes.
Today was a great day after the 1/4 inch of rain last night. The
air smelled so fresh! The sun tried to come out and did manage
to stay out but briefly.
I finished several nagging projects before the New Year. I would
have liked to complete more but waiting for clients to call back
with information I needed. With the nice weather, everyone is out
and about.
So now it is time to move ahead. Out with the old (tree) and in with
the new, or should I say, renewed? Renew your goals and look
at a way to make things fresh. Keep that positive attitude and
challenge yourself to do more in 2012. Make your dreams come
true. It's all up to you.
Thanks for stopping by. HUGS! Happy New You in the New Year!

Looking back and looking ahead

A pretty close comparison to the size jeans I wore 3 years ago

Jeans before and jeans now
I have looked for pics of myself before and had a hard time finding
anything so I decided this was the best I could do.
So I decided to post these on my 3rd SParkversary. Was it worth
the effort? You bet!

Looking ahead for continued success in 2012!

Falling farther behind

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

SP is going fantastic but the office has really gotten me bogged
down. It would have been better if I had worked all day yesterday
but there are only so many basketball games left for DS and I
want to see them all. There is a home game tomorrow so I will
be able to finish the work day. Finish the work-another story.
But in light of the holidays, I want to cut myself a little slack and
remember that the most important things are family and friends.
Work can wait, within reason.
So, as DAISY443 says, the workaholic comes out and she's a
real tiger. Time to tame the beast LOL!
I am slowly taming the beast of holiday excess. I have big plans
for the leftover cookies. They should vanish by the weekend. We
have 16 cookie trays to give to the elderly in our church and they
will fit the bill nicely.
DH and I just washed up the 20 dozen eggs we have accumulated
in the last 10 days. SIL is home and will take them with her to
share with the rest of the family. The weather has been so mild
we are getting between 12-18 eggs a day. It counts up in a hurry.
The washer and dryer are merrily running and the dishwasher has
just shut off with the second load of dishes today. Hopefully this is
the last of the extras I used for the Christmas feast.
The ambulance was busy today. One early morning trip from the
Care Center, which 2 other EMT's took and the later morning one
that I went on with an extra driver. Both were cardiac issues. One
needed to stay in the hospital but I think my patient may have
come home this afternoon. He just laughs when he sees me. He
wrote a thank you in the paper 3 years ago and said you better
be dressed when you call for the ambulance or they'll take you
before you get your slippers on. He's such a card!
Have a wonderful evening and a terrific Thursday. The New Year
is coming. Make plans for a whole new attitude from Day One!
Thanks for stopping by! HUGS!

Great job on learning when to let go a little. I struggle with that myself.

Try not to think of it as falling farther behind. I have to think of each day as a clean slate and decide what goes on the list for the new day. Some stuff just has to fall off.

Sounds like you have been BUSY!

Sorry things aren't going as well as you would like in the office, but it's always nice to get away and relax too.
