Take one mildly insane woman (me)
Add one mildly insane and busy day (today)
Mix well and what do you have?
A day full of non-stop action and activity.
There were 2 ambulance runs today. At the page tones
just before 8, I ran the one block to the station from the
coffee shop, talked with the other 2 EMT's that arrived
just after I had driven the rig out of the bay, and let them
take the run. The rest of the morning was spent getting
a handle on the day''s business. Home for lunch and
organizing the lunch for after tonight's Advent service.
Another page just before 1 but the other EMT's took
the call. I was fine with that as I had a desk full of
work that needed to get done today. I did leave the
office at 4 to come home and start supper, wash my
hair and get ready for church. I left at 6 and spent an
hour getting the coffee and lunch items ready. After
church, I served lunch while DH visited the whole time.
Suddenly, he announced he was going home so I was
alone, cleaning up, washing dishes and putting the
leftovers away. By the time I walked into the house with
the last box of extras, I was a bit perturbed. His only
comment was that he was tired. Okay, I'll accept
that but it would have been nice to have a little help.
I am glad we only serve once a season.
The bonbons went over well, as did the homemade
bread, cookies and candied pretzels. I divided up
the remaining cut pieces of bread with some of the older
members. Oh, the smiles! That made up for all the work.
Now, I am putting my feet up after watching my taped
episode of Survivor. Just a few more minutes and I will
put an end to the day.
"Mix" things up each day! Change your routine and add
a little spice to your life. Thanks for stopping by and have
a tremendous Thursday!
