fundraisers, soup kitchens, spaghetti suppers and many events
that revolve around food. I am keeping track of these annual events
as they are planned to occur for the next month. There are one
or two every week through November. I also know the month of
December will offer more of the same. Interesting problem with
the many choices of food offered. Yes, there will be pies, sticky
cinnamon rolls, luscious cakes and frosted cookies. And those
are just the desserts. The list goes on with hearty meals and
well-meaning cooks and bakers who share their delicacies.
But, I digress. Tis the season to play it cool, make good and
healthy choices and track every bite.
I did have a great day with my routine disrupted slightly by an
ambulance call in the middle of the morning. We could have
allowed our patient to go back to bed but chose the safest
route by taking her to the hospital to be checked by her doctor.
Athough her protests of "feeling fine" were countered with
her general appearance, she agreed. Once she was seen by
the doctor, he concluded that it was a fairly minor event but
was still glad she came in. She returned home after a battery
of tests with an admonishment to "rest". Her daughter said
she slept most of the afternoon and thanked us for our
concern. Just another day in the life of a small town EMT.
Thanks for stopping by. Time to take my cakes out of the oven.
DS has a school fundraiser and mom needed to provide a
dessert. The other cake is for the PTA bake sale. I think I
am happy both will be out of the house tomorrow. HUGS!
