trying to beat the frost!
It is sounding like the temperature will dip down to 30 degrees
tomorrow night so I am planning how best to save my tender
plants in the garden. I picked the remaining cantaloupe and
watermelons tonight. Tomorrow I will pick as many peppers and
tomatoes as are ready and cover the rest. I anticipate it will
take at least 20 blankets to protect them and the eggplants.
At least I know where they are. When I cleaned the upstairs
this summer, I packed most in a large cardboard box. The
rest can be taken out of the camper. Will I have enough? Time
will tell. You know, the weatherman can be wrong LOL! I would
hope so but my instinct tells me he may be right on the money.
I picked a 5 gallon pail of broccoli and when I finished cleaning
all the extra leaves off, I weighed the bag. I had 10 pounds of
gorgeous, green broccoli. Such a treat to share with the cafe
and the quilting ladies on Thursday. I will reserve some for the
family but 10 pounds would be a bit much. Broccoli for breakfast,
Did you set a unique goal for today? Something special and
tangible? Was it attainable or is it a work in progress? I hope
that whatever goal you have in mind will become a success
story. Something special and memorable for you. This is your
journey and your chance to succeed.
All the pics I took of the happy bride and groom were taken on
the disposable cameras left on the table so the guests could
capture moments for the couple. The one good picture I do have
is of the wedding cake. It was delicious, by the way! I did have
a few pictures that DD took of MIL and her 4 children, and also
with the spouses. Those I can post. I am sure DD will make sure
I get copies of the pics she took. The cameras were a-flashing
all night long so I am sure there are some good pics floating
EMT class tonight was short and sweet and I had a chance to get
a 30 minute walk in. I shredded 5 zucchini for DD, packed into bags
and popped them into the freezer. Good eats for later. I do need to
visit the garden tomorrow and see what I can find. I know I need
to pick the broccoli and check the tomatoes. The weather has
turned colder and will stay that way for most of the week. It is
to be expected but there is talk of a possible frost by Wednesday.
You know, the weatherman can be wrong LOL!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you had an awesome Monday.
Be persistent and consistent and success will follow! HUGS!
Beautiful wedding, gorgeous weather but a lot of driving so
everyone is tired. Tomorrow is Monday and back to the real
world. The cabin we stayed is was roomy and very comfortable.
Everyone wants to go back again when there is more time.
Hope everyone's weekend was great and I will try to post
pics tomorrow. HUGS and thanks for stopping by!
and time for a football game. The boys had a good game last week
and we hope for improvment this week. It is also Military Night
so all veterans get in free. DH will be one of the many attending.
I am busy packing as we have a wedding and leave early in the
morning. It is a 5 hour drive across the state and we will return
