Hectic day in the office-but it was Friday and everyone was getting ready for the weekend! Me, too! We had plans to plant the garden, well, part of it anyway. I trenched the rows for the onions, then trenched all the rows for radishes, kohlrabi, spinach, beets and peas. I wanted to plant lettuce, too, but it was way to windy to try scattering those light seeds and keep them in the rows. I'll do that when the winds are quiet. We planted the cabbage and broccoli but saved the tomatoes for warmer weather. We worked for 2 full hours and I did all the trenching/digging-major cardio time!
We decided to eat a late dinner, ordered and the food had just come to the table when the
ambulance/fire pager sounded. I ran over a block to the fire station. My driver was with me when we left the door of the cafe. I started running and I beat him to the station! He was WAY behind me. I asked him, "What's the matter, old man, haven't you seen me run before?" He
was winded and he is at least 4 years younger than me! We checked out the situation and in 10 minutes, I was back to eat. Small fire in an oven smoked up the house-some kids burned a pizza! By then, I wasn't very hungry but ate 1/2 of my sandwich and french fries and came home. I did eat baby carrots so I had my veggies for the day!
Ahhhh, life in the fast lane-got to love it!
