Day has slipped away

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

and here it is early evening. It was a pretty usual day but the weatherman gave us a
break and the rain/snow moved out of the area sooner than predicted. It was still cool
and cloudy but tolerable. DH kep busy with clients today and it was a productive day.
My biggest challenge required having a serious talk with the nanny. I told her I would
appreciate a little cooperation. It was hard earned as I felt like I was wrestling with
her. When we were done, I realized my coat was in need of a washing. I will be glad
when the mud dries up. I was pretty decorated. The standing water just adds to the
mess. Maybe by this time next week, we will have sunny and warmer days again.
I am watching the Biggest Loser (or should I say listening). I am trying to fold laundry
and keep the washer occupied, I might get done yet.
Have a wonderful Wednesday. Thanks for reading and commenting. HUGS!

You make me tired just reading your blogs. You are always too busy. I don't think I could lead such a busy life, but you seem to handle it OK.

Have a great day.

Weekend activities

Monday, April 18, 2011

Saturday we took a road trip to MIL's house to meet our niece's fiancee. We had lunch
together, visited and caught up on family and friends, then pruned MIL's trees in the
backyard.
When we came home, we went to our orchard and trimmed two apples trees that
needed attention. Farm chores were interesting with the fresh snow.
Yesterday, the snow was pretty much melted. After cleaning in the basement, I baked
the bread so we could send some home with MIL. She came over to hear DH and DS
sing in the cantata. It was a very beautiful concert. Lunch was served afterwards for
the choir members and their families.
This morning, I carried all the boxes out of the basement. I had just finished when
DH said "I was going to do that." Well, too late now. I think he waited on purpose LOL!
The next 5 days hold the promise of more rain/snow and wet conditions. Got to love
spring-unpredictable and usually wet.
Have a great and glorious Monday as we walk through the days leading up to Easter!
Thanks for reading and commenting. HUGS!

I ALWAYS love to hear what you've been up to...and I STILL remember those blogs and pics about the cinnamon rolls...yum! emoticon emoticon

Council stopped doing that here a couple of years ago now. It was a very handy way of cleaning up. Also really funny to see the next morning all up the street, as most of the stuff was gone. I suppose what is someone's trash is someone else's treasure.

This is really weird Marsha. Your blog says: Sunday April 17 and you're saying good night? It's only 3 pm Sunday here in Tasmania, Australia and we're 15 hours ahead of you, so that must mean you're saying goodnight on Saturday night, correct? Well then, I wonder why your blog is dated in orange italics 'Sunday, April 17, 2011'.

Wet, sloppy snow!

Friday, April 15, 2011

The tax man cometh but so does Old Man Winter. We had about an inch of rain
throughout the night and now have gotten about 2 inches of wet, sloppy snow.
It was time to invest in a new pair of overshoes so I could do farm chores and
have dry feet. DH is gone to an all day meeting and his boots are much too big
to wear in comfort. I know the nannies were sure happy to get inside the barn.
This will surely make a mess for those dealing with flooding already-sigh!
I am sending SIL home since it has been pretty quiet. I have some things to
work on and will get right to it.
I did do laundry and dishes last night, took a walk despite the 30 mph wind.
Boy, was it fresh and cold. Walking against the wind was quite the cardio
workout. I may scale back today since I will have to do chores again this
afternoon. The mud and heavy boots will surely burn a few calories LOL!
Have a tremendous Friday and thanks for reading and commenting! HUGS!

We didn't get much white stuff, but we certainly are wet here! We were hoping for a softball clinic this morning. No such luck after an inch+ of rain. Temps weren't real cooperative either. So reschedule for May 14 & pray the SPRING will be here by then!! Hope you're staying warm this weekend. Pam

No tax man until end of June in Australia. Yes winter is not long away here either as we are almost half way through Autumn. Hope your weather takes up and keep your feet dry.

Have a great day.

I sit here thinking I should turn on the a/c and poor little Abbie laying in front of the oscillating fan and you have snow! What a great country with varied weather. Glad it is snow and not a tornado.
I plan to not do any yard sales this weekend and work at my house!! Need to trim the shrubs and maybe get some more plants and refresh a couple of my planters. There is always housecleaning and ironing if I get too bored and we are walking at 7 am so......I won't bet too bored! I walked this am and then came home and with 2 helpers we spent 3.5 hours working in the park gardens and refreshing some of my planters in the park. Slowly but surely we are getting things spruced up for spring/summer. Those who don't volunteer to help haven't a clue (or maybe they do and let us crazies keep it looking nice). Think I am going to have to try harder to get more volunteers so I don't wear out the 3-4 that I do have to help me.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Pat
